Jimmie's Chicken Shack - Dropping Anchor Lyrics

We've all been tied to words
That we sink
Not falling in
Not falling in
We've all been tied to words
That we sink
Not falling in
I'm not falling in

Don't know what I want to do
And I hope that I never do
Don't know what I want to do
And I hope that I never do
Don't know what I want from you
And I hope that I never do
Don't know what I want to do
And I hope that I never do

Dropping anchor
Dropping anchor

We've all been tied to words
That we sink
Not falling in
Not falling in
We've all been tied to words
That we sink
Not falling in
Not falling in

Don't know what I want to do
And I hope that I never do
Don't know what I want to do
And I hope that I never do
Don't know what I want from you
And I hope that I never do
Don't know what I want to do
And I hope that I never do

And I will not play my hand just yet
And I will... not and I will not
Play my and just yet
And I will... not can't believe
Though I know I said it
Kick myself
But I won't regret it

Dropping anchor...

  1. M.... ....

This was one of the first bands my dad introduced to me when I was and I still listen to it a lot

  2. m.... s....

The good old days at the 8x10 in Baltimore.

  3. S.... 1....

the sound at the beginning is awesome

  5. A.... P....

    HIGH SCHOOL THO :D

  6. M.... G....

    Anyone jamming this in 2018

  7. J.... S....

Don't think I could ever could get sick of this song. The opening and closing tracks of this album are just phenomenal.

  8. M.... J....

The most underrated rock band from that era! Glad Jimmy is still around, they are out on their 25th anniversary tour right now

  9. D.... G....

Seen them on the roar tour with sevendust in savannah Georgia
    1997

  10. R.... S....

    Fave❤❤❤❤❤

  11. B.... B....

I remember as a kid always seeing their cds at the store and thinking they looked cool but never heard them and didn't want to gamble the 10-15 bucks to check them out. After a while I ended up getting it in one of those 12 cds for a penny things from Columbia house. Of course like every other 90s kid I never bought the other 2 cds or whatever it was to fulfill the contract. After a while I got a call from their billing department saying they could go after my Bank account and even my car if I didn't pay up (mind you this was over about 25 bucks) I was like listen dude I'm 14 I dont have a bank account or a car. He just paused for a second and was like oh can I talk to one of your parents. So I put my mom on the phone and after about 15 minutes back and forth my mom just said "he's 14 he's not contractually obligated to do anything!" and hung up on him. Anyway great album and the best 12th of a cent I ever spent

    B.... B....

    Lol same here

    B.... B....

    I can very much relate

    B.... B....

hahaha I did one of those too! I think I needed to buy 6 but every time I would buy them like 4 or 5 of them were discounted and didn't "count" toward the purchase, I think I bought 3 at full price and stiffed them the other 3 all the while getting like 20 CDs total for the 3 at full price.

  12. S.... W....

I remember watching this on MTV x back in the day every song on this album is good one of my favorite albums of all time.

  13. T.... M....

This band was so sick. Was a shame they got just passed over so easily. They deserved all the fame that 311 ended up getting lol

  14. S.... B....

    Soo underrated

    S.... B....

    Fancy meeting you here

  15. M.... B....

Love this song, and the album it is on. One of, if not the best rock albums of the 90's (which was FULL of good rock music). Bring Your Own Stereo is awesome too. Lazy Boy Dash is my favorite song of theirs ( or When You Die, You're Dead) . I remember at the 1st annual Baltimore Grand Prix a few years back, I had been there most of the day, and after I left, I was looking at the program and discovered that JCS was playing a show there in an hour or so, so I immediately turned right around! Few years before that I was at the HFStival one year and JCS were headlining the street stage. Jimi says "We are just going to play until someone unplugs us". Few hours later I had missed Cypress Hill, Our Lady Peace and The Living End on the main stage. took 10+ years for the chance to see The Living End again. Well Worth It! !

  16. H.... H....

    see jane run

  17. S.... ....

Can't get enough of this song. I love this, too much.

  18. F.... ....

Ah my high school days! :)

  19. T.... Z....

I saw Chez Lemon in Baltimore years ago, I thought he was a homeless person at first.

    T.... Z....

Cool was he here with the band?

  20. N.... J....

Such a cool band! They should of been bigger then they were. Still jammin to their stuff.

    N.... J....

  21. S.... G....

Dear America, I give a damn!

  22. C.... H....

I saw them last year at a little club by orlando, an I asked Jimmy to play dropping achor. he said the rest of the band didn't know it..WTF?!

    C.... H....

+Daniel Lundstrom Maybe they were high.

    C.... H....

Daniel Lundstrom they probably didn't want to look stupid playing a song they haven't played in a long time. Plus this song requires a few certain types of fx pedals

    C.... H....

I was there w/ you! Sneaking in cheap ass whiskey and blacking out before first song

  23. J.... W....

How in the fuck are these guys not big.  I call bullshit.  Sure the lead singer is short as fuck, but they are still great.

    J.... W....

+Jimmy Wayne Faygo hhahahah. im 5 '9 thats average. hahahah

    J.... W....

+jimi haha what's good haha, Man I miss seeing you guys...

    J.... W....

+jimi haha I'm a 31 year old with a 12 year old daughter. Played this album for her yesterday and she LOVES it. Gave her the CD that I bought back when it came out. I used to play Zelda ocarina of time with the sound off while playing this album on rotation. Best soundtrack to Zelda ever.

p.s. come back to New Orleans.

    J.... W....

+jimi haha HAHA Mr. haha. Well played sir.

    J.... W....

+jimi haha you're a musical genius, thanks for all your great tunes! much love & respect man

  24. P.... ....

Such a great band...and so under rated!

  25. J.... M....

These guys should have been a lot bigger than they ended up .
Somebody dropped the ball big time ...
Fucking band & Lp rocks !!

    J.... M....

I was a big fan back in the day too. From what I remember, they were supposed to be part of a festival with Sammy Hagar but refused to play because they saw him as a 'dinosaur'.

    J.... M....

    +themachine 82 not true

    J.... M....

@jimi haha just what I heard on WAAF. Was hooked on the first album, High-the big single, is actually the weakest song of the album. Played that thing over and over, trying to turn heads on to it sophomore year

    J.... M....

+jimi haha I'd think you didn't want to play with him just because that hair has become a bit scary on Sammy. ;)

    J.... M....

jimi haha I played this album a million times. Makes me miss the 90s.

  26. j.... v....

Seriously pisses me off this band isn't fucking millionaires! So under rated!

  27. S.... T....

Shit I remember my sophomore year of high school seeing these guys in a little venue in Tucson Arizona, needless to say I left this show with out either of my shoes and a broken nose!! Good times These guys are bad ass

    S.... T....

I remember similar instances in the 80's watching Flotsam and Jetsam at The Wildcat House

  28. R.... F....

  32. S.... M....

GREAT! Didn't know this existed, thanks. Anybody ever track down any album b-sides or the rerecorded versions of early tracks they did?

  33. d.... ....

ahhh man the 90's >< they just dont make em like this anymore

  34. C.... ....

Thank you for posting. JCS is possibly the most underrated bands of the 90s and into the 2000s. It's unfortunate they had so many issues with their contracts.

    C.... ....

And 2 successful singles... They were pretty popular back then

  35. J.... S....

    love that profile photo.

  36. J.... S....

awesome tune and album, er or, cd!

  38. a.... ....

    Love and remember!

  39. D.... U....

Man this brings back memories! These guys were basically the house band at Hammer Jacks (the original). When I was a youngin' growing up in Pasadena (North East High alum) our big thing was blowin bong hits and skateboarding and Chicken Shack was the sound track of it. I can remember before they went national, the Evolve Board Shop (anyone remember that joint) sponsored JCS. They would put there music in all of their low budget TV commercials. A great time for MD music. JCS, Lake Trout & others

    D.... U....

I remember them playing daytonas all the damn time, before they built the cvs. NE alum too. (01)

  40. C.... S....
