I'm their biggest fan but one must be either deaf or blindly devoted to acritical enthusiasm not to note that this is beyond disappointing. It's a half-baked uninspired pop ballad like any indie band was doing back in the late '80s, and like legions of lame indie copycat are doing today. It adds nothing to what has been done already, both by J. and by others. And also a song per se, it's terribly weak. This is not a matter of experimentalism or "more noise" - it's just uninspired stuff with no ground and no direction and incomparable to what they achieved in theh past. Check what Lush and Ride did with their recent comebacks - they had some fresh good ideas to start with. Jesus and Mary Chain don't and probably just felt it was worthy to jump on the wagon and come back as well.

Oh come on they are men in their 50's who have been out of the game for years. It was the record they wanted to make.

I've heard a little bit and you saw in 1990 or 1991 in Prague in the Pyramid. I was 15 years old. One of the first concerts of guitar noise - feedback. It was a complete revelation in Czechoslovakia after the fall of the Iron Curtain !!! That same year, the first time here in Prague played Sonic Youth, Pavement, Sebadoh, Slowdive ... Since then, I love this kind of music. The sound of guitars !!! Wow. it's great to release a new LP !!! Thanks, and it sounds great. Peter

Not gonna lie, was hoping for a bit more fuzz, feedback and distortion. Direct descendent of Almost Gold and Sometimes Always. Good to have the boys back. World is a better place with a new JAMC single.

Aside from Psychocandy, Honey's Dead and the 80s B-sides, I'd say the majority of the JAMC's discography isn't very noisy at all.
