Jerry Reed - Misery Loves Company Lyrics

A misery loves company misery loves company

I just left my home friends where I couldn't sleep
For thinkin' bout a woman that I couldn't keep
She walked out and she left me for somebody else
Now her memory keeps hauntin' me when I'm by myself

So break out the bottle bring on the crowd
Tell funny stories turn the jukebox loud
Come sit at my table where the drinks are on me
Yes gather round me cause misery loves company
Well let me tell you a misery loves company
Misery loves company

Well I'm not the first one that's lost everything
To a false hearted woman with a false hearted scheme
But this is the first time I've suffered myself
So help me get over this one I’ll handle the next one all by myself

So break out the bottle bring on the crowd...

Having now heard the original version,i am amazed at the version Mike Finnigan did!! Two completely different versions of the same song !! Sorry Jerry, but i like Mikes cover a bit better...both are great and it's really not fair to compare the two...So different! Thanks for sharing !!

I love Mike Finnigan's version. Ronnie Milsap's cut of this tune is awesome and I suspect it is what Mike was going for. Not many people could cut Ronnie's version and come close but Finnigan nails it as always. Same with Charlie Rich's Feel Like Going Home. Finnigan sounds just like Charlie when he cut it.
