And my uncle drove a bus and gave me free rides every where in town I had two mom's my real mom who was great and my aunt Myra who was an Rn but also a clothing model for jc penny She never smoked drank or cussed that I know of and best of all She was a devout Christian woman and man she. I like Jerry Lee , but he should not touch a George Jones song.

George Jones wrote the lyrics but the melody came from a very old Rartongan song entitled “Vaine Varopana.’ If you write “Varopana" into the youtube search you will get a rough version of it. Dickie Lee Lipscomb and Steve Duffy claim to have written it but it definitely predates them. It was written by an old Raro bloke whose name I cannot recall prior to WW2.

For me Jerry sings it best George sings from the back of his throat and nose, and Elvis isn't country enough like Jerry Lee Lewis, I think Jerry was better at country although I loved his Rock @Roll I am a Perry Como fan but my favourite Jerry Lee song is his Sun Record version of Cold Cold Heart, it is superb and his piano playing is out of this world .
