I was installing equipment at a 3 rink ice skating rink where heavy duty skating practice goes on and this song came on a few times during some of the skaters practice and had to look it up Carly Rae Jepsen. don't know who she is but that song was done with grace and beauty

I had no idea about the original, but something always seemed to be off. I love CRJ and all, but the quality of this song is way way way above her (or 99% of anyone's) capabilities, which is nothing to be ashamed of. Lo and behold it was John Denver who wrote it, and it all makes sense. That being said, I like this version. The original is something I'd never listen to 'for fun', but I guess that says more about my taste than anything.

John Denver died on October 12th 1997 at the age of 53 when his plane that he was piloting crashed in Monterey Bay in California his real name was Henry John deutschendorf Jr

Please do not compare. John Denver's original is country music back in the 70's. This Carly Rae Jepsen's remake is entirely different mix of jazz and pop. I like both versions.

Carly Rae Jespen can't even hold a candle to John Denver. John Denver is known as one of the greatest vocalists of all time and he doesn't need to auto tune the hell out of his music unlike Carly does.

In my opinion I hate this cover for 2 reasons:

1. She didn't put in any where near as much emotion as John Denver did in the original version.

2. You don't take a song like this and make it into some mainstream pop bullshit.

This song was good when I was growing up. I would sing it esp on my low days & I still do. I am glad to see it brings importance still to the new generation of musically talented artists today. Thank you Carly for bringing this song back to life.

Famous in BC maybe, she was never really heard of in the rest of Canada before her single Tug of War, then she actually hit it big with Call Me Maybe. None of her songs besides "Call Me Maybe" even made it in the top 30 in Canada. And if you're gonna say "but she was on Canadian Idol"... No one ever watched Canadian Idol, the season she was on was the last one before it was cancelled.

Listen to Tiny Little Bows (Green Couch Session). She sounds fantastic. And at least she bothered to acknowledge such a great artist. Now more people know about him :)

No offence, but you're insane. Denver was a deep man with spectacular lyric writing ability, and a pretty respectable voice. Jepsen is also a terrific songwriter (you may be familiar with her new crap written by SchoolBoy Records, but her first album was of notable lyricism) and her voices captures and disseminates the sunshine over the course of each breath. Her vibrato on the third line with the word 'lovely' in this song is one of her splendid additions to it, just to point out the one.

John Denver was a thousand times the singer that this girl is. Remember, Denver used virtually no assistance beyond amplification. Jepsen can't sing without electronic assistance.

This version just makes me want to laugh. Jepsen completely loses the spirituality of the original while adding nothing of her own.
