Jennings, Waylon - Wild Ones Lyrics
Straight out of nowhere
And a little bit out of our minds
We were courting disaster
With one foot over the line
It was one for the show
We were the wild ones
We had the town up a tree
We were the wild ones
The ones they couldn't control
We were survivors
Good hearts, body and soul
We were the winners
Cause we didn't know we could fail
We were the wild ones
She was a lady
When a lady wasn't easy to be
Hangin' in limbo
She started hangin' with me
We were the music
Cause we had a song we could sing
We were the wild ones
And we had the world on a string
We were the wild ones
The ones they couldn't control
We were survivors
Good hearts, body and soul
We were the winners
Cause we didn't know we could fail
We were the wild ones
And we had the world by the tail
We were the wild ones
The ones they couldn't control
We were survivors
Good hearts, body and soul
We were the winners
Cause we didn't know we could fail
We were the wild ones
And we had the world by the tail
We had the world by the tail.

Gotta be one of waylons best but yet least known songs
WHOA.....Tony Joe White playing acoustic guitar.....love this song!
I love this song even though Country music is not in my category.
Just saw this good ol' tune on heartland tv. Still relevant after all these years. I'm a dedicated rock and roller, but this transcends all stereotypes. Waylon was definitely the man.

Love Waylon and Jessi. Miss him and no one like him.
Waylon is nothing but the goat greatest of all time
Help make this video in Dickson County. I was the homeless man on wall. I was young at the time. Then years later my brother ended up marrying Waylon and Jessies daughter. Then had a boy. Miss my little nephew.

he looked so cool standing in his black suit, nicely shaped facial hair and the spotlight aimed right at him. great voice.
Watch him smile as he's singing about Jesse. I mean that was a priceless smile. I hadn't heard this song in years. This is one of my favorite songs by Waylon. Got that bada** attitude sound.

Waylon Jennings is an Acquired taste. If you don't like Waylon, acquire some taste.
Ken 1706 You know it!
@turnipgreen 28 damn. At least you ended up here!
Well said. By far the coolest and truest statement on here. 🖒
I acquired Jennings music and I've never stopped loving it. Jennings is so under rated it's a crime.
🙌🤘
GoD bless
Thank god for utube so we can hear really country music
We were the winners, because we didn't know we could fail! Damn good advice!
Waylon Jennings is one of only a few musicians that had at least one charting hit in four consecutive decades.
He's was also one of the few that could start out a story with " me buddy and Elvis were sitting in this cafe" and not be full of shite
Love This... You either like Waylon Jennings or you're Wrong!
I like Waylon Jennings “Wrong”
It’s been 21 years since Waylon passed but his music lives on
17 years.
joe dank my bad thought he died in 98. I must’ve thought of someone else
He actually passed in 2001.
@Joshua Brooks 2/13/2002
@Rose Gosnell 4 days before my nineteenth birthday.
Nobody can sing it like Waylon, one of the best country singers of all time. R.I.P. Waylon
finbar callan i think this was one of his last songs before he died
My old man was an outlaw, he's holding up St. Peter at the gates right now...go get em Pops....
He still owes my grandfather 50 bucks. Since the down of time. Lol. Both have past. But our family members still laugh about it. Lil town in Texas called small patch ( little field for you youngsters) right next to Jenny slipper ( mule shoe ) lol. And the other guy you may have heard of from Turkey tx. Bob wells. Only 2 kinds of music ever in our house. Country. And western. Lmao.
Awesome song! He still had his talent!
What can I say I still like this song.
And still listening to it in 2019.
🤓👍
right here with you guys
You can count me in 👍
Me to friend awesome song
1burnman That’s because it’s good tunes! Enough said....
Waylon is buy far the greatest country singer that ever picked up a microphone. Just like HANK wrote Waylons guitar had that sound
Right.?.!.
Very well said & Agreed
@Just AGuy
& you allso, i totally understand where you're coming from -
Hank Williams ways the greatest allso way ahead of his time before Waylon Jennings..
well, I won't exactly use your words. But he's great, true.
Don Williams, Marty Robbins, George Jones. Those are my bests
Marty Robbins is my favourite
the great Waylon
Too bad the sound engineer disconnected his mike the last 30 secs of song
Never heard this before...It "floors me" for its awesomeness...1995 huh,,,i was in college then.
I saw the video back in the 90s and I was like huh?? That's my dad's fave singer! And then I never saw it again. Some years back I remembered it and started searching for it on here and found it! I love it!!

@boston bault all the older people I know aren't bitter and besides that they showed respect to others and had manners.
@mike Grey wym they dont get offended over everything? Anything that resembles a black culture or anything that isn't completely white offends boomers
@boston bault really because all the older people I know get along very well with black people and have never said anything negative about black people
@Boss Pimp What jungle language is that shit skin?
mike Grey INDEED✌️♥️😃
How can you not like Waylon
AMEN brother
I love Waylon. I just wish he wrote more of his songs.
Either you like his music or you have no taste, Waylon is the best.
@Clay Cameron exactly
In my book the outlaw lives on , I don't give damn who wants to know Him and the rest of the outlaw made their music for us. So that we can go back to enjoy it you younger generations you don't know what it means to have a gentle giant like Waylon Jennings to look up to,All you younger generations play stupid songs and we can't understand the music your suppose to be singing is nothing but"Hog Wash" it is sickening to other people. I say thank you for letting me listen to the best outlaw his name is Waylon Jennings that's who. Thank you and God Bless to you all at You Tube.
Hey juanita I first got acquainted with Waylon back in 1979 when the dukes of hazzard came on TV, I didn't know who he was at the time until my dad told me about him. I didn't know who Buddy Holly was either until I got a cassette tape of his greatest hits one year for Christmas I must have played that tape over and over again at my Grandmother's place in Tipton Indiana. Anyway to make a long story short you were right on when you said that waylon was the best there was and still is. When they said that the day the music died about Buddy Holly not true and so it is the same about Waylon. Waylons music will live on forever. Hey I'm on Facebook under Robert Morrisett so please send me a friends request and I'll confirm it so God Bless and be blessed my wife Kim likes Waylon as well so have a good night
Yes I agree thanks Robert m@Robert Morrisett
Amen. It's not even country music anymore. Today's country music(or so-called country music) has been sold out to that useless pop/hip hop crap. I am just like you in that today's country music sickens me.
Legendary
Waylon should have been the southern president
Never be another one.
This is anything but country music, the great Jennings is done.☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️💀💀💀
Keith Hunter 🇺🇸
Brandon Kraemer 🇺🇸
mike Grey yep !
@Brandon Kraemer He is remembered for more than outlaw country. I came to his music through Buddy Holly. Waylon was signing onto a record label that Buddy was starting, and was playing Bass for Buddy in 1959. Unfortunately, half way through the tour, a plane Buddy chartered crashed, killing the pilot, Buddy, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. Waylon and the other musians had to complete the tour without 3 of the 4 headliners.
@Tom Anthony that's exactly what I was saying. Couldn't be more correct. Very talented singer, song writer, and musician. He lived the outlaw life and his music reflected it but as the song says, "ain't living long like this"
Waylon kicks ass ! ❤
Thank you WAYLON, for everything -
you will allways be the true
(OUTLAW).....
Wild ones
Well really he was a spoke person for us
@turnipgreen 28
& a thank you to you allso,
yes Waylon's words that he wrote for us were quite about people & life as well as poetic & meaningfull..
But what allways got me about the man was his deep bass voice,
i he was a powerfull & trully a Phenomenal human being -
Thanks again to you friend..
From marshville

Totally Agreed, he was
(Just A Good O'L Boy)..
I never had a favorite song by Waylon, but the only one that my Father had taught me the lyrics to & taught me how to play on acoustics was my favorite - Waylon's version of
My hero's have allways been cowboys
when i was just 7 yrs old
