Jennings, Waylon - Walk On Out Of My Mind Lyrics

I hear the echo of your footsteps
They're right in step with marching time
Since you've walked out of my life and out of my world Please walk on out of my mind.

[Instrumental]

I know you're hidin' there in the darkness
And it's got me running scared and blind
Since you've walked out of my life out of my world
Please walk on out of my mind.

[Instrumental]

You've got footprints all over my mem'ries
I must erase them if I can
You keep stumbling through my hopes and dreams
Kickin' around my future plans.

You've got me walking round in circles
Looking for something I'll never find
Since you've walked out of my life and out of my world Please walk on out of my mind...

  28. B.... C....

~ ONLY THE BEST COMES FROM WAYLON !!

  29. s.... ....

Oh my gosh, he is so clean cut looking here. And handsome! I met him about eight years later when his band came into a place where I was eating. He was so nice to me when I talked to him. He looked different by then. Long hair that didn't look too fussed over, scruffy beard, cowboy hat, boots, etc. I was amazed he was there and so stunned that I totally forgot to ask for an autograph. I know he was a special person. You can tell when you talk to someone if they are. And I am sure he was.

  30. d.... ....

This is the best it gets, to me ! ....Judge not....!  ....One of the best lyrics in any Waylon J or any country song is the 2nd verse of ..."Mental Revenge" ....on this show, i believe...dfm

  31. j.... n....

I love this song this is my daddys favorite singer waylon

    j.... n....

+jessica neal mine too.... thinking about doing a reggae version.

  32. A.... E....

CASH IS GOOD BUT HE CAN'T SING LIKE WAYLON    WAYLON COULD REALLY SING WITH THE BEST OF THEM  OR BETTER    MUCH MORE RANGE
    AND ABILITY

  33. A.... E....

HE MARRIED JESSI IN 1969 SHOOTER WAS BORN IN 78 OR 79 HE DIDN'T CLEAN UP UNTIL LIKE 84 OR 85

  34. M.... C....

He really went on to let himself go, but at least he kept putting out good music.

  35. J.... D....

    Incredible.

  36. T.... ....

after 1972 he went down hill fast

    T.... ....

@Nelson Michael I mean he still song ok just the songs were trash

    T.... ....

@TheJanka51  Umm...no I agree with the others now, you are an idiot. Do some research.

    T.... ....

@Nelson Michael you are a standard by what all other idiots are set by , research Hell I was there

    T.... ....

@TheJanka51 You were not....I want to see you prove your theory on this...Waylon videos from youtube will prove you wrong. You're a tool.

    T.... ....

    @Nelson Michael says you

  37. J.... H....

    This is for you nikki

  38. A.... K....

Waylon is my great great hero..

  39. B.... C....

My dad was a bartender for him at Mcgoos

  40. F.... c....

    one of the best

  41. u.... ....

Oh shit, I hit the dislike button by mistake. Sorry everyone.

  42. j.... r....

Johnny cash is good but not close to the best

  43. B.... ....

I'm sorry, but you are wrong.

  44. c.... c....

johnny cash is the best he's the 2nd

  45. b.... ....

    music from a manufactured town

  46. J.... L....

I can relate to what he's singing here. And wow is he good.

  47. J.... E....

    true classic

  48. W.... ....

There is no finer sound...no better quality than this man's soulful voice

  49. S.... ....

@Graymalkin2001 You're right. Next they'll complain because the applause on this; Hee Haw; The Glen Campbell Variety Show; Smothers Brothers Comedy Show; American Bandstand, etc. was canned. It was to get exposure to the fan base & sell records, but the moronix don't understand. If I was a producer, I wouldn't bring in bands & orchestras & extra sound & lighting techs either. For a three minute song? No way.

  50. R.... R....

great song. Why can't they play this great today

  51. K.... R....

A Martin D-28 to be exact.

  52. t.... w....

    WOW,what a man!!!!!

  53. S.... M....

I would have NEVER, VERY guessed this was Waylon...without the trademark beard, bushy mane, and cowboy attire, it's a completely different picture. But, as soon as he opens his mouth...well, NO ONE else sounds like Waylon!

  54. J.... ....

To my ear, it sounds like his voice is coming through live, although he's air-strumming to the backing track.

  55. B.... ....

This is such a great song, sang by the best country singer ever.

  56. 6.... ....

This is the real deal, REAL COUNTRY MUSIC

  57. r.... ....

My guess is that this is towards the end of his compliance with the old pre-packaged way Nashville did business. You can see he hates the lip syncing and not having his band there.
I think this video captures the birth pangs of the Outlaw movement.

  58. b.... ....

    So awesome!

  59. P.... F....

LOVE me some pre-outlaw Waylon !!!

  60. m.... ....

Hoss always sang each song perfectly.

  61. D.... T....

    Charlie McCoy?

    D.... T....

No, Waylon played harmonica on many of his first recordings.

  62. M.... H....

    Great song!

  63. J.... G....

I bet that shirt was sleeveless

  64. t.... ....

    I luv that shirt!

  65. t.... ....

I LOVE him on this! He was sooooo good lookin'. The song ain't all that good, but he sounds great to me anyways!

  66. c.... ....

    Great Stuff!
