Jennings, Waylon - Satin Sheets Lyrics

Wish I was a millionaire
I'd play rock music and grow long hair
I tell you boys I'd drive a new Rolls Royce
Pretty women hangin' on me
I'd give 'em all the third degree
Satin sheets to keep 'em off of the streets.

Hallelujah, hear me talkin' to ya
Praise the Lord and pass the tambourine
Great Jehova, you'll come over
As soon as ya see me boogie woogie cross the silver screen.

Hang 'em high and hang 'em low
Put 'em in the eyes wherever I go
Keep 'em all night feelin' just right

Hallelujah, hear me talkin' to ya
Praise the Lord and pass the tambourine
Great Jehova, you'll come over
As soon as ya see me boogie woogie cross the silver screen...

Forgot about this great tune thanks for uploading it. Hallelujah.

  4. R.... M....

    Waylon's number 1!! In Canada!

  5. g.... ....

This is among Waylon top 10 'spiritual songs'...an LP /DVD of such song needs to be compiled...just like Elvis had (Elvis had 2-3 religious themed LPs). True Waylon fans know which songs I'm talking about. I wonder if it was released after he gave up read up meat and had his Heart stroke stay in the hospital with Johnny Cash in the room next door?91988

  6. J.... V....

WAYLON. Put his heart and sang his soul in all his music.

  7. S.... C....

    Thank's Teddie for sharing

  11. L.... S....

Waylon sings the (Satin Sheets) and it sounds so great the drums the bass everything so great.

  12. P.... F....

At least Darius Rucker isn't stinking up rock radio anymore, now he's dropping his audio shitbags on country radio but I have to admit it's a perfect match

  13. P.... F....

When I was a younger man I hated country music (Johnny Cash was the only exception) & sometime around 94-95 a buddy of mine moved back to Virginia from Texas & played Waylon for me & I was floored,it was the coolest shit I'd ever heard, now I consider myself a fan of country music ....real country music that is not that garbage that's played on the radio & CMT

    P.... F....

    Pig Ford
I my self introduced many of my to the coolest mf to ever pick up a guitar

    P.... F....

    my friends

  14. A.... A....

thought this was the other country song by the same name, never heard this before but Waylon delivers of course

    A.... A....

jeanne pruett 's satin sheets? yea the other one

    A.... A....

NO!!! Not Waylon, and not Jeanne. Willis Alan Ramsey.  And you think this version is good, you need to listen to Willis sing and play his song. No disrespect to Waylon.

    A.... A....

@tonyelder ok thats a new one to me

    A.... A....

@Rich Allen Johnny Paycheck had slide off your satin sheets

  15. L.... S....

WAYLON knows how to sing and play that guitar.

  16. L.... S....

WAYLON IS #1 here in Texas

  17. G.... V....

kenny berry berrypicker....Hearing check.  I do believe he said "tambourine".....not tangerine.   Waylon's version beats ALL others.

    G.... V....

    Actually, Willis Alan says "mescaline."

  18. H.... R....

NOT by Waylon!! By Willis Alan Ramsey... Credit where due, brother!!

    H.... R....

yeah i found that one too

    H.... R....

    Rich Allen Jonny paycheck maybe..

    H.... R....

@Ti Bi could well be i'll try to find
    it

    H.... R....

Willis Alan Ramsey... not a wasted note on that album!... if you can find it:)

    H.... R....

I love Waylon but he ain't touchin' Willis' funky vocal. "Praise The Lord and pass the tambourine just doesn't sound as good as "Praise The Lord and pass the mescaline".

  19. 9.... ....

That's right, no one can sing it better then that precious Waylon Jennings. He is just fabulous; he just knows how to deliver any and I mean ANY song. Sure wish he was still around. Love both him and Jessie.

  20. A.... B....

Waylon sung that! Never heard this before but he sure sang it well!

  21. R.... H....

Waylon, the greatest hard core country rocker of all time!

  22. k.... b....

Being a guitar picker, i so much prefer Willis Alan's version, but Waylon does the hell outta this version, even if he gets the words wrong (pass the tangerine??) C'mon. But he was probably in recovery at the time, so I don't blame him.

    k.... b....

    It's hard to beat Willis!

    k.... b....

Tambourine...not tangerine. Mescaline. Should have left it alone.

  23. m.... s....

hi teddie i really like the songs of waylon you can pick some good one's thanks...

  24. P.... K....

Every time I find a great song, it says "uploaded by teddie488". Teddie, your the man! Thank you for the great songs.

  25. S.... ....

@ILoveNinjaSkillz Your aunt was pulling your leg

  26. S.... ....

I love Waylon of course, but Willis did it better.

  27. B.... C....

@ILoveNinjaSkillz You might want to get that poetry book out of the trunk............ As others have noted this "Satin Sheets" is "Puro Willis Alan Ramsey".

  28. B.... C....

@ 1:48 its "Praise the Lord and pass the mescaline" Actual lyric.

  29. h.... ....

A GREAT Wayon song. Written by Willis Alan Ramsey. A great song-writer. This is a case of a guy passing along a song to someone who did it much better than the write. I love Willis, but Waylon delivers on this in a way Willis coudn't.

  30. I.... ....

My aunt wrote this song.. got the originals in her poetry trunk..

  31. Z.... ....

Oh yeah.....Summer nights, screen door open, cool breeze comin' through the screen....Outside the old man sittin' on the front porch with a tall glass of ice cold water or a can of brew...The RCA 8track/record/radio/tv combo stereo blastin' this tune...Me joining him on the porch while the 8 track repeats over and over and over....AHHH, the memories.

  32. U.... G....

I love Waylon and his music. I love this song. Never heard it before.
Thank you so much for posting it.

  33. h.... ....

This song was written by Willis Alan Ramsey. If you can find Ramsey's first album (this song is on it)...buy it. It's on CD or maybe at a used record shop. That said, Waylon nails it.

With an endorsement from Gregg Allman on the back cover!
