Jefferson Airplane - The Last Wall Of The Castle Lyrics

Gone swirling tears came she went today;
Down Fallen years go by,
No place in learning how to cry; I went astray;
Understanding is a virtue, hard to come by
You can teach me how to love
If you'll only try; So please!
Don't give up so soon.

Sorry that I hurt her I went astray;
Hurt her mind and broke her heart
But there's no stopping once you start; she went away;
Understanding is a virtue, hard to come by
You can teach me how to love
If you'll only try; So please!
Don't give up so soon.

I never knew you the way you are;
The Blinded bird is not sincere,
His flying's done from only fear, he's lost his star;
Understanding is a virtue, hard to come by
You can teach me how to love
If you'll only try; So please!
Don't give up so soon.

    almost 23 years old here, living in the Bay. Airplane today is such an underrated band and it took me a while, but this is their greatest album. This song should've been released as a single

    The solo interlude starts grunge and ends Sonic Youth, in 1967, eh. Mournful yet energetic song.

  25. B.... M....

    @frankw973-- sounds to me like a pick scrape with a lot of fuzz on it, pausing a couple of times on the way down for an expressive wiggle. Alternatively, maybe the sound of a kitchen sink drain emptying! (also fuzzed up to the max).

    B.... M....

    @Brian Middleton It's Jack Casady abusing the Versatone amp after he first discovered it. They have distortion capabilities like no other due to the internal tube biamp setup. No fuzz box here, just a small tube amp being throttled to within an inch of its life. The inventor brought it to Jack to try out at the studio, as Carol Kaye and other studio musicians had used it for its clean hifi tone, and when Jack did this to it, he told him "You just bought it, buddy."

    B.... M....

    +Edwin Hurwitz Great background story!

  26. B.... F....

    Does anybody have chords for this song?

    B.... F....

    +Brody Forrester Bm to E, then A, E, G, D, F# then Bm, D, G, C. Pretty easy.

    B.... F....

    Kaukonen's part is more difficult.

    B.... F....

    @Sheriff Lophophora ya think? ;<}

  43. G.... M....

    @excelsior544
    I hate to be exclusionary, but honest to god, was there a better bassist in rock than Jack Casady, or a better combination of guitarist and bassist than Jorma and Jack? Pleasure without end.

    G.... M....

    Gary Morris Roger Waters, but Kaukonen is arguably the best guitar player ever to rival even David Gilmour.

  44. r.... ....

    @popmachine12 ill buy your records man! keep it alive, its what i live for. im a 15 year old girl.

  45. I.... R....

    @popmachine12 Dude, me too. What style are you guys going for? Lighter like the Airplane or more Cream?

  46. R.... Z....

    @popmachine12 Rock on !

  47. D.... M....

    @popmachine12 You are wise way beyond your years!

  48. D.... M....

    Warning: Jack's gonna jump out at you like a booger from an Mr. R. James ghost tale. Jorma on vocals and machine gun guitar.

  49. M.... O....

    one of the best bassists around is Jorma-fuck this band are cool- I havent heard this for 20 years and love hearing it again.

    M.... O....

    Jorma didn't play bass... Jack did

  50. M.... O....

    there is stuff all diethylamide around this country and if so it is 30 to 40 a pop! :O Psylocybe is easier

  51. v.... ....

    yes, this is one song where paul and jorma and jack all just sound so perfect together. dont get me wrong they sound good on the other songs, but Paul usually doesnt have the same vibe as them.

  52. L.... A....

    @popmachine12 I'm fourteen, and I feel exactly the same way. Jefferson Airplane is my favorite band, and as a musician (whose voice has been compared rather generously to both Grace SLick and Signe Anderson), I hope that what I can bring to the table will start the revolution again. We really do need it.

  53. S.... .....

    Love it when everyone else in the band backed away and let Jorma, Jack et al. do their thing...Nice!!!

  54. D.... G....

    Killer LYRICS !!!

  55. s.... ....

    i never thought of it as acid rock , back in the day it was known as psychodelia,

  56. S.... ....

  57. M.... L....

    If you don`t know Jack you don`t know Jorma:)
