In the '90s I ran into Paul at The Booksmith in Haight-Ashbury. I told him that "After Bathing at Baxters" was still my favorite album. He replied that it was "one of our favorite bastard albums". I wish I had asked him what he meant by that.

Some years ago, I discovered this song on "Grooveshark", it was a live version that lasted for, if I remember well, approximatively 10 minutes. It was beginning by two of the guys saying "And now we bring you... -No no no, we don't !" and this version was absolutely awesome, then grooveshark closed and I've never seen this version back, I've listened to some of the lives on youtube but the absolutely awesome one never showed up again...

Does any of you knows about this live and tell me where I could listen to it again (except in my mind) ?

I got to meet Paul at a concert over the summer. He was really sweet and gentle, but I could tell he was super tired. Still put on a kick ass show, though! RIP Paul! Be sure to jam with Spencer and Joey and John!

One of the best rock/psychedelic albums of all time, from some of the best rock musicians of all time (in terms of songwriting ability, originality, and musicianship)! Sometime in the late 70's, I found the 45 single record (original RCA black label) of this song in a little record bin of all places in a 7-Eleven - still have it!!

i think this is a work from E.E. Cummings. This is early youth going to a nice pleasent place. i really like Spencer Dryden on drums and Jorma Kaukonen on lead guitar.
