I just lost my mother. We used to go on Sunday drives in the country and listen to news about Vietnam, and music on the radio back in the early '70s. You could tell the songs she liked, she would get quiet and just listen to the radio. This was one of those songs. Rest in peace, mom. You've earned it.

Yeah, great version by the group. It is the "B" side of the 45 and it still brings back memories for many. You can get the 45 on ebay.

I was at a friend's house playing cards one night when he put this CD in. Once this song started, unintentionally, unplanned, unexpectedly he and I both started singing with Jay like we had planned it. My friend is gone now but I never hear this song without thinking of that night and my friend, Rob Alston. RIP my friend, we'll sing this together again one day 🙌

1968 aged 15 head over heels in love with my boyfriend aged 19 said yes to him everyone thought we were in trouble nope just tell for each other he bought me a beautiful diamond and ruby ring, we had no plans to marry soon but a family situation changed our plans and we decided to just get married so we did the following year again of course even people in our church thought we had too again nope. He and I both completed our plans both gaining our degrees me two as I changed direction in my late twenties had three kids and celebrated our golden wedding anniversary on Valentine's day this year. Yes we were young but we also knew our own minds so yes 1968 is kind of a big deal for us. You know what it he was to ask me again today my answer even knowing all we have come through would still be yes. This was playing in the jewellery shop when he took me to pick up the ring he had it specially designed and mounted for me and while most folks in our circle of church friends went for diamond trinity or militaries he had a trinity with ruby in centre of two diamonds set in platinum mounted on yellow gold band totally unique 50 years later I still choose to wear it constantly even though through the years he has bought me several upgrades. It's the thought behind it if never change it or him

I stumbled across this. So happy to see this here for posterity. Real music; not the s**t of today. Forgot how great his voice was. He deserved greater stardom.

Of the three "Jays" that performed as lead singer, this second one, known as "The Voice", appears to be the most favored. According to Wikipedia he is 80 yrs old and apparently still performs on the oldies circuit. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
