Javine - Winner Lyrics
[VERSE:]
I have a dream
I dream it every night
to fly away
so far away
for you to hold on tight
don't be afraid
there's brighter days
we're standing at the crossroads
I think I know which way to go
If we take this risk
and make one wish
everything will be alright you know
I'm a winner
You wont know whats hit ya
HEY! HEY! ah huh ah huh
I'm a winner
wanna take a picture
HEY! HEY! ah huh ah huh
I'm a winner
You wont know whats hit ya
HEY! HEY! ah huh ah huh
I'm a winner
I'm a winner
I'm a winner
winner
[VERSE:]
I will succeed
I'll reach that mountain high
gotta pave the way
for my baby
wont let the creeps
take my shine away
and time will see
the better me
we're standing at the crossroads
i think i know which way to go
If we take this risk
and make one wish
everything will be alright you know
[CHORUS:]
I'm a winner
You wont know whats hit ya
HEY! HEY! ah huh ah huh
I'm a winner
wanna take a picture
HEY! HEY! ah huh ah huh
I'm a winner
You wont know whats hit ya
HEY! HEY! ah huh ah huh
I'm a winner
I'm a winner
I'm a winner

its too late
I been there done that
I can't stop now I come this far away
Hey yeh

Can't stop now

[BREAKDOWN:]
I could touch the stars in the sky
gotta keep on believing
and reach way up high
and I keep pushing on
and I keep being strong
I wont let time pass me

Cultural misappropriation but a great tune!
So underrated .
Love big like good song from Greece
Can you feel rythm in my heart, beats going DÜM TEK TEK 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
So underrated...
It's like she is Eleni's older sister.
What the hell...Sounds too Middle Eastern to me...
It’s Greek cypriot music not turkey
It sounds very turkish not greek.
Another example of a UK song that was far better than the miniscule amount of points it was given. Sadly the UK has lost interest in trying. Terrible songs gain massive amounts of points from "neighbours". Eurovision is just a once a year novelty. Who won this year? Remember the song? Most people in the UK dont have a clue and dont really care.
Graham Hayton
The UK hasn’t given up, they’ve been trying their best but their best is not even close to being better than most of the performances in the competition. They just haven’t sent anything unique as of lately. 2009, 2011 & 2017 are by far the best ones in recent memory. 2005 is great though, it really is under appreciated
@Andrew nah the BBC do a low quality pre selection with lower quality songs performed by unknowns, that's not doing our best. If the BBC invested more in the UK pre selection (and it was on prime time on BBC1, with known artist and a bigger budget) then we would be trying. But it's not gonna happen, BBC aren't bothered and major artists wouldn't get involved. Last time BBC made an effort was when they roped in Andrew LW and then Blue and we did alright. Since then it's just been pretty much turds. And Europe expects something good from the uk (due to our massive record industry and international artists) not a low quality song by an unknown singer.
Graham Hayton
Uk doesn’t need major artists, proven by many Artists before, especially this years winner Duncan. Big time performers hardly win, ABBA was unknown at the time
I can’t find this song on Apple Music ugh :(
a bop and a half
If it was Greece's or Turkey's song it would have done better. The composer was a Greek cypriot.
Turkish melos or not,she was divine!!!😍😍😍😍
The original Lyrics were
Touch my VAG!NA
She cannot sing and was a weak singer, she is a man thief also getting involved with singer Alesha Dixons then Husband, so no respect, nor did the guy she cheated on with Harvey a rapper have any respect.....Terrible song, poor voice, and poor representative for the UK morally, vocally, musically etc.....
She’s a relationship ruiner, Javine is a slag
Turkey , Ukraine, Azerbaijan , San Marino forever 🇹🇷🇦🇿🇺🇦🇸🇲
Best song! Should have won 2005, best entry from UK ever.
OMG THIS WAS MY JAM WHEN I WAS 11🤣❤
anybody from xfactor ?
This was a great platform for Javine though. If it wasn't for this no one wud ever kno who Javine was.
Wasn’t she known for almost making it into Girls Aloud?
@KarlEuro89 yep that too
Εμένα μου άρεσε αυτή η συμμετοχή της Αγγλίας! Αδικηθηκε
If Turkey had sent this they would have won.
Symon on X factor had better dance moves. 😄
One of the best songs of 2005 by far!
Nice performance.
The music is turkish and still amazing
It sounds like Turkish music 🙈🙈🙈🙈
What made them think this sounds British...lol
And what about Eastern Europeans sending synthpop in English makes any sense?
But she did great overall. Why did she not score so high and why is she underrated?
Rock Man Javine was sick during the performance and the Big 4 was disliked by most of the countries this year. Only Turkey, Malta, Cyprus and Ireland gave us point this year. The entry would have suited 2004 as it was hosted in Turkey and this song is Turkish.
@mollydog181 also Britain invaded Iraq in 2003 and that was unpopular...
13 years ago. catchy song by uk. javine is so sexy in that outfit.
She is not a good singer.
This is like representing Greece or Turkey not United kingdom
Is it 2005 Greek entry 😱
haha no it's a UK's entry but this is more like representing Turkey ,cause you can get some oriental vibes from this song. I love it 😍 this is the most different entry from the UK of all of their entries through all these years!
It’s ilke representing Turkey... but Turkish people and singers are dancing much more better
You wish
I have to say, this is an EXTREMELY catchy song, and she is a very good singer, but omg the song is so catchy I can't stop listening to it
Best Turkish entry😂
i loved this
Eurovision 2005: the year with the sexiest women
I'de like to see a duet with Javine and Eleni Foureira (maybe in a Touch my fire-Fuego remix)???
zoroastri touch my fuego
OMG THIS IS THE MASHUP WE NEED
Quite good song, it would be better if my neighbour Turkey was with this song and not with Rimi Rimi Ley
Love this one! Cant get it out of my head anymore now...
my guilty pleasure that year<3
x factors edition is better
What a horrible performance.
I think no jury involved didn't help back then, as western songs were more forgotten... but this still wasn't good enough to do particularly well... I think 22nd is a little harsh but it wasn't even Top 15 tbh
I wanna touch her ever since and I'm a girl...
This reminds me of cryprus fuego
I've always wondered why people didnt vote?????
Because Britain invaded Iraq in 2003...
Iconic. The most legendary performance of all time. Touch Queen Javine’s fire bitches
KIIIIIIKIRIRIRIRIRIIKIKIKRIRIKIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Great song. Way too underrated! Kudos to Javine for being able to come to Eurovision & sing Touch My Fire in public. I blush just from the thought of saying it out loud.
And she threw her career away for that waste of space Harvey....smh
If it wasn’t a Middle Eastern sounding song, it could’ve easily made it to the top 10
this is winer
Guys the vocals weren’t great we know that but she actually really wasn’t well when she sang this. I remember the BBC radio station reported it!
Even though her vocals aren't the strongest, the song is nice and evokes a feeling of passion--which is also associated with fire. Nice touch.
I think she sounds better live than on the actual record lol.
This is a mess
Straight haired lady (dancer) is doing her job great...
Bless her heart. She was sick that night also.
sranjew
I really like the music in this and it's really catchy
It doesn't matter where or who she is representing, any one is aloud to adopt any sound they choose and many songs from eastern europe end up sounding Northern or western!
This Janine stinks.
Eurovision 2005 I MISS YOU
I know right. I like virtually every song from 2005
I think the staging wasn't strong enough. It eventually got overshadowed by another ethnic dance entry, My Number One from Greece.
Well, if this song represented Turkey; it could get higher places...
It sounds quite like a cheap Hadise!
except Hadise performed 4 years later. I think you meant: It sounds quite like a cheap Sertab Erener.
THE GZ Of course on that year it didn't! Bit if you compare this to Hadise performance in 2009 it does 😊
Sounds like Rumors by Lindsay Lohan.
Great entry but low voting for it. The UK deserved the top 10 in 2005.
I would say Top 5.... (a Greek girl)
Jamelia: Javine's a slag
Javine: Touch my fire
Love it. Walmart's Beyoncé. Love from Spain!
wow truly terrible and embarrassing
As a great woman once said: Javine is a slag!
She's not a slag
Daizy Looper She’s a relationship ruiner, Javine is a slag
Underrated song but 2005 was a really good year for Eurovision
so cheap
empty and soulless entry trying desperately too hard to follow a trend rather than making its own. A turkey disguised as Turkey
This was incredible
Sertab's copycat?
Aziza Alkan no,I don't think so. It's just a similar kind of music
It was really common to copy the previous winner. The two previous winners were Turkey "everyway that I can" 2003 and Ukraine "wild dances" 2004 that were very ethnic and mysterious songs so everybody started adapting similar ideas.
what are you talking about, this is similar to beyonce, crazy in love.
Serbian Rock how on earth is this like crazy in love?
Dear Javine, stop missing words
I don't care what anyone says, we (the UK) were underrated. Yes, maybe it was a little too Turkish/Eastern sounding for the UK, and yes, her vocals were weak, but overall, I think the song is good and the performance is good. I do also agree that if this had been representing a country like Turkey or Greece for example, this would have been top 10 without a doubt. I think with better vocals and not singing in 2nd position, we could have finished higher.
If Turkey or Greece sent this, it would make sense. That's why it would place higher. For United Kingdom, it doesn't make sense. It doesn't have its own identity, and that's why it didn't place well.
But we have such a diverse culture...
@Sam Galea 2nd position is a death sentence for anyone performing.
Her voice seems pretty good to me
@Grigoris Aspridis Sweden that year submitted a song about Las Vegas! What's the city of sin got to do with Sweden? If they can do it, do can we!
2005 was a strong year but honestly, iot's perhaps the most underrated British entry since 2000.
And also the least British sounding song. Which is why it's one of their most underrated ones
incredible this was one of my favorite entries from my home nation uk
Aleksander Pagels a lot of other countries send “british” sounding songs every year tho lol
It was bad at all and was a moderate hit in UK. Underrated! It is much better than FYR Macedonia, Russia, Albania... vocally she wasn't good and was destroyed by Malta and Romania who followed but still it deserved a better place.
Awesome, but too Turkish for Great Britain's standards. That's why it didn't score higher. If Turkey had gone with this song, it would had been possibly a winner
Alex4u and the best one in 2017
We have a very diverse culture. I mean, one of my best friend's mother is Lebanese, my great-grandma was Irish, my other friend's mother is from Hong Kong ... English is only a de facto language and not actually official, I've wrote songs and sent them as eurovision ones from the public to the BBC in Finnish, German, Dutch and Spanish.
@Sam Galea It performed 2nd, which is an instant curse.
It performed 2nd which is why it didn't place higher. No song performing 2nd since 2000 apart from UK 2002 has ever done well.
Ιωάννης Βογιατζής when I heard first time it. I thought it’s greek entry 🤭
This is so bad and embarrassing.
Oh Javine beautiful girl! And catchy song!
What is this bad cover of Beyoncé's "Naughty Girl"
George Austin Tay
Beyonce - Naughty Girl (2006)
Javine - Touch My Fire (2005)
Bye
@Portakal Suyu
Bye to you, Naughty Girl is from Beyoncé's 2003 debut album, Dangerously in Love. Better get educated, fatty 🐝🐝🐝🐝
George Austin Tay actually back then it was common that they'd try to copy the winner so this is a copy of Turkey 2003
George Austin Tay stop body shaming
I don’t hear even the slightest bit of Naughty Girl in this.
Beauty girl nice voice but a boring and bad song. Good try UK
Wrong way round - Good song bad voice.
Really nice song
The song was OK. Her vocals could have been better.
I remember that she was sick during all the week!!
To be fair she's doing a LOT of dancing
Carles Mixes a throat infection i believe was the reason for being ill
Its like representing Turkey
Since those elements come from Ottoman, it's associated with several ethnicities like Turks, Arabs, Greeks etc.
Turkey sent many songs in English. It's like representing the U.K.
heppolo Yea, Russia and its tens of divided countries...
@SK Z that's true and sad at the same time cause my country(Greece) hasn't been doing well at eurovision in the last couple of years
2005 great eurovision year
