It`s a filter, far more commonly used in the professional studio situation than in the home recording situation as this is, that quite simply corrects a singer`s pitch if that may indeed be necessary. That`s what it is *pitch correction*, - & it has no ability to make an inadequate singer sound terrific. To discover just how stupid your suggestion truly is, go to the Jasminefanpage, where you will find many of her live at home instagram uploads - just her, her voice, her piano and no mic. Equally you could look at any of the live in concert performances on her channel under "Live Sessions".
