My 1st time hearing this song.. I have a new found respect for Ms Joplin's vocals especially after being bombarded with the autotune singers of today..I read there are many old school singers that refuse to it.. and if she were around I bet she'd say no to it too

I am sure she would be true to her music, but she would also be in her 70s.  She would never survive our muzac society.

How can it be that I've never heard this before? Something must have gone seriously wrong somewhere. This is at least as good as some of her really great work.

I disliked this when i was younger, my mother loved it, sang most of janis joplin's songs with such enthusiasm, her voice broke and sounded harsh to the ears, only later on in life did i realize that my mother sang Janis to the key, the two bear a strong resemblence, When i listen to Janis i cant help but be reminiscent of those who love me and the hardships that come along with that sort of love.
Janis provide sacrosanct within all the crap tied into living the life we all live.
