You can definitely hear on the metal part of Jane's Addiction and in some of the psychedelic sound. Tool just took one step further into progressive metal.

I heard this album the first time I took LSD. We kept playing it over and over. Almost 20 years later and it still brings me right back. Sepultura's "Roots" was the other album that night.

Jane's used to play this song live in 1986. It was on the shelf for years.

Hindu music is psychedelic as fuck! That's why I found it some enchanting. Well, some of my uncles and aunts, bunch of hippies from the 60's love Hindu music as well as Psychedelic Rock. That's where I got my taste for both. Trippy as hell!

There is much to be found, and your efforts will be well rewarded. There are so many bands to recommend. A mellow band with the mystic vibes and kindness, we used to see Sky Cries Mary, up in Seattle. I listened to them while way into Jane's. But there are so many, it's difficult to say what you will enjoy as much as another.

Three Days from their Ritual album...same kind.of vibe. Even better IMO.

mystic as hell.....creates a fertile environment of innocence, simplicity, hope and the subtle feeling that life is a long feast. As simple as a snake slithering thru any jungle and noting thoughtful observation after observation. With Jane's~ the beauty is ~the snake isn't scary.

Gah.....the way the song changes up around 3:00 is just....gorgeous. They were such a trippy band back in the day. I still think they've made some incredibly music in the past 10 years....but the early stuff just has a magic to it that's hard to describe. It had this mystical psychedelic sensual vibe that is like honey to my ears. Perry was(and still is) such a ridiculously unique and creative human being.

I have bought 3 copies of Ritual De Lo Habitual and they would disappear from time to time. I used to get Korn CDs like crazy. Like an unasked exchange of sorts! I also bought Siamese Dream four or five times. Just got it again, and it is already "missing". But every time one disappears, another one shows itself. "Is it Luck?"- Primus
