Jan & Dean - Lullaby In The Rain Lyrics

No sadness
'Cause I'll take good care of you
Don't be blue
The sun will shine right on through
So baby don't you worry

We'll be friends now
We will be just like one
Havin' fun
A run and playn' in the sun
No one can ever hurt you

You can come with me
To the mountains or the sea
If you want too
Everything that is mine
You can have it that's just fine
With me now

So smile now
Aren't you glad you're here with me?
Here with me?
Is where you will always be

So baby don't you worry
So baby don't you worry
So baby don't you worry

Jan & Dean Lullaby In The Rain Comments

I used to have that single, I lost my irreplaceable record collection of 100s of records in a move. 😢 I had LPs, 45s, and 78s. I had lots of demo records, including Jefferson Airplane, and the Stones "Aftermath, I love I am Waiting". It would cost me $1000s to replace them, providing I could find them. A moment of silence for my collection.

From what I have read this was recorded after the accident and before he got back his full ability to sing.  He sang and recorded a verse then another and so on until he made up a song.

It's a great song, but Dean's vocals are pretty ordinary. But it still doesn't take it away from being a great, underrated piece of music.

The picture is Dean and Jan's brother. I love this album!

    bee u tee full

Dean apparently wrote this soon after the accident because it was the flip side of the 45 he made...of Summertime, Summertime...on J&D label that summer of 1966

Wow, wish I'd heard this way back when I was dating, it's a real mood setter. This is a really nice song, it would be nice to see it have air time today.
