James Taylor - Walking My Baby Back Home Lyrics
Gee it's great after staying out late, walking my baby back home.
Arm in arm, over meadow and farm, walking my baby back home.
We go on harmonizing a song or she's reciting a poem,
owls fly by and they give me the eye, walking my baby back home.
We stop for awhile, she gives me a smile and cuddles her cheek to my chest.
We start to pet and that's when I get her powder all over my vest.
After I kind of straighten my tie, she has to borrow my comb.
It's one kiss then we continue again walking my baby back home.

James Taylor Walking My Baby Back Home Comments
This guy kills every song with his sos slow tempo gimmick renditions. This song is another example of his sos slowed down tempos/interpretations which put most people to sleep. I have no idea why people think this BORING lame-o guy is a star.
redflamered We get it, you don’t like James Taylor. But who do you like from his time that is at least somewhat comparable in genre and instrumentation? Who are you comparing him to?
My mom actually knew the words to this one she said it came out when she was a kid
I love you James 🌻🥀
Like a fine wine. Made it his own, so don't compare.
Walking My Baby Back Home in my cd extra the song is 3:13 and is like no music at the end.. someone can tell me if that is normal form cd?
What???
I've never heard anyone else do this song besides Nat King Cole. Very nice! XOXO
Dianne Willis it goes all the way back to 1931
Dean Martin
hourglass...1st cassette tape I bought whilst working in the Middle East... Love this song. vocals and guitars at their best. I love JT. my all-time fave artist.
Mine too had the pleasure of seeing him in concert a few times but Hourglass and October Road where two of my favorites.. oh who am I kidding they're all my favorite
This reminds me of one of the most beautiful girls I had the pleasure to spend time with.. When I hear this song I flip that memory on..
+SupremeOmega3000 That's it.
Wonderful!
Just an excuse to post an advertisement.
Buy this album as it is fine work and will sound far better than this on your home Hi-Fi or portable device.
I do not mind adverts IF the posting has SOME unique aesthetic VALUE. This is clearly some one simply posting anything they can get their hands on to exploit You Tube as an advertising medium and collect a few pennie from an advertiser. Sorry, not good enough. I was expecting some visual MOVEMENT in a video! Isn't movement the purpose of videos?
+BixLives32 Why don't you just shut your eyes and listen? Then, while you're enjoying the song remind yourself not to inflict your mores so severely on others.
It would have been nice to hear him jazz it up a little bit.
mrbubetube this is James Taylor's style...
This IS jazz. You mean you want it busier.
Simply sung, but the underlying chords and bass line are definitely Jazz!
If you are down or depressed, put on a collection of James T. songs. He will take you on an emotional journey to where you need to be. As in life, he'll traverse down a few nostalgic, maybe even somewhat sad streets but he'll bring you out on lover's lane, with his 'cup half full' spirit - he and his songs are beautiful, musical therapy. sc
No he's not Nat..he's very much James Taylor...I like this one better. James has such a sweetness to his voice. It's perfect for this song.
Nice, but James is no Nat King Cole!
And.. your point? There is certainly room for both. Both brilliant.
See my comment.
How does the man do it........he can make any song his own.....like nobody ever did the song before him
A big north east liberal ...but a talented singer.
I LOVE this song
i did not know ...simply sweet
