James Taylor - Honey Don't Leave L.A. Lyrics

That limousine in which you made the scene suits you to a 'T'
if all you want to be is somebody that don't never walk.
That big chateau where you wanna go in the south of France,
gonna end our big romance. Don't you do it.

Honey, don't leave L. A., that Riviera is so far away.
Begging you s'il vous plait, they don't know nothing down in St. Tropez.
Baby don't leave L. A.

I heard it said that you had it made with you movie star, but, oh, how right you are.
If that's really 'bout the best you can do,
you moved my soul so I played the role of your back door man.
Yes and now I can't really complain cause I love you.

Honey, don't leave L. A., that Riviera is so far away.
Begging you sil vous plait, they don't know nothing down in St. Tropez.
Baby don't leave L. A.

Can you see who the drummer and bassist are? I think he had Russ Kunkel and Lee Sklar during that time...

    D.... ....

You are correct. Russ and Leland. BTW Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar along with Waddy Wachtel and Steve Postel formed a group a year or so called The Immediate Family. They have toured two times in Japan and a dozen gigs in LA , New York and Canada. Cutting a new album right now. Still can bring it in their 70''s (Postel much younger). Waddy also has his own band (just saw them tonight) as well as being the musical director and band leader for Stevie Nicks. Leland still plays bass for Phil Collins where they finished huge European tour and just left for a month or so long USA tour. Russ plays on Lyle Lovetts band as well as working on Cat Stevens (old name) new album among other things. Kortchmar working on album as well as new movie about the Troubadour..w/JT, Carole King along with himself, Leland and Russ....

Danny "Kooch" Kortchmar wrote one of the best lines in any James Taylor song, "Begging you, s'il vous plait."
