James Taylor - Hello, Old Friend Lyrics

Paris' rooftops were lovely to see.
Switzerland's vertical landscape crossed my mind's eye just now.
Canada's shoreline has been calling out to me, but it's been too long a time
Since last I crossed that vast Nantucket sound,

hello old friend, welcome me home again. Well, I've been away but that's all over now.
Say I can stay for October, now, stay a while and play.

Little dog David, I must look like a fool.
I should've remembered you'd be forgetting my smell, well.
Give me a week or two to recapture my cool, I've got stories to tell
about how I snatched the devil's catch and out ran the hounds of hell.

Hello old friend, welcome me home again. Well, I've been away but that's all over now.
Say I can stay for October, now, stay a while and see.

Hello old friend, welcome me home again. Well, I've been away but that's all over now.
Isn't it nice to be home again, over here it's clear. Hello, old friend.

    @Mark A. As what?

    M.... I....

With the 30th anniversary, I saw the World Series video last week and this was stuck in my head all weekend. Nice song, hopefully we're just the outliers and this isn't eternally connected to the earthquake.

I had to figure out which song it was but that's what brought me here too. It's a nice song though. I've watched the WS opening for years but never bothered to find the song until now. Glad I did.

Also, who else thinks earthquake everytime they hear Candy Maldonado's name?

    M.... I....

Too bad “Roseanne” (The Connors) didn’t do a 30th anniversary promo of the SF earthquake with this song as ABC put on Roseanne reruns that night after the earthquake happened. They could’ve said “We Were There”, and the entire cast sing the song.
