I just realized at 62 yrs old that I have lived 10 lifetimes. Thank you Tommy. It sounds just as magical as it did in 1977 in my bachelor apartment.Sitting alone in the dark with you .

Haunting. Tommy Bolin's true talent were his vocals. His interest in integrating Jazz and really all forms of music with rock was groundbreaking for such a young man.

He was mature well beyond his years. The fact he wrote this type of music as a 19-25 year old kid says so much. He’s so fucking underrated it pisses me off.

I'm 64 and never heard this until yesterday. I'm used to Joe Walsh. I found this and I just keep playing it. Such a BEAUTIFUL SONG. It's like I want others to hear it cause their missing out.

Look up "Run, Run, Run" from the Domenic Troiano version of The James Gang. It is also very lovely.

Are not familiar with the whole album, James Gang Bang? Bolin is fantastic!

Man! How time flies! I wore out an 8-track tape of this album while dragging main street. After a major breakup back in those days, this song brought both tears and solace to my wounded heart.

It helped me survive a divorce at 22 yrs old.

Love this song - too bad not better known- saw Zephyr when then they played Rapid City SD back in the day - what a loss when Tommy Bolin died at such a young age. This song achingly hints at what he might have given us. Glad he left is this.

I 1st got this album in 1974 & it BLEW me away at age 20 and still does almost 40 years later! Alexis and Mystery on James Gang Bang just was the # 1 & 2 songs Tommy wrote and sang while adding strings to the back ground playing and the softness of his voice proved beyond a shadow of a doubt we have a true star in the sky!Only 4 days after my Daughter Heather was born Tommy past away leaving us way too soon & tears still come to my eyes every time an artist of this caliber takes his life away!

The rif on Alexis is played by GOD.

Philip Walden Bolin only sings Alexis on this album. Roy Kenner sings this track and the others. Bolin only sang one song on Miami as well - Spanish Lover

I heard this song on 8 track when I was 7 years old, the 8 track was not labeled and I could never find this tune until 35 years later! As great as it was when I was young!
