James hidden masterpiece.......this truly is something special and this song is gonna be playing as I head in to the flames when my light has faded out

I remember playing this Album till I wore it out! Absolutely amazing music! This was my favorite song of this album!

Some people say things they don't mean, but the ones they say them to...well, they hold on. And we'll keep on holding...

This brings back some fond memories listening to this back in college(Pacific Union College/PUC RN program).

Just bought my daughter this album for her record collection . One of the best albums ever !

They do, because for some (you, and I, for instance), it SEEMS obvious...but for many others, the prospect of loss is too great.
I loved my last dog, and swore I would never get another...but I miss having a dog.
More seriously...I have loved two women in my life...both broke my heart...the second worse than the first...I HATE looking around at sites, going to bars, etc...so many are so shallow for money, especially at my age. It is sad...I'm thinking of just going eunuch to solve the whole problem.
Yet...I keep looking.

Some...they just cannot.
So for them, the pain of loss was/is just too great.

This song holds a very special place in my heart. The years were '92-'95. My Miami years. Job reloc moved me from Chicago, the Windy City, to Miami, the Magic City. I had this job I had to travel a lot. I remember very clearly one morning, it was like 5AM and it was still dark. I was driving to the airport, MIA, to catch a flight to God knows where. I had the radio turned it, WVUM. WVUM is the college radio station for U of Miami. It was the only station that played alternative music. Still is actually. And this came on the radio. I recall driving, dark out, and this eerily playing on the radio. Will always remember that.

I love the way this song makes me feel sad whenever I listen to it.

I suppose it's called Five-O because of the chorus melody's resemblance to the theme, but I can't help thinking a title based around the lyrics would have been more meaningful.

They were playing this song when it really started to pour down rain at Woodstock 94. It was so surreal as if it influenced the sky to release the rain somehow. It was awesome. Love this band and this song and will always remember it for giving me that moment in my life.

This album was MY best kept secret in the 90's. Nobody I knew listened to this album. Even my high school sweetheart didn't listened to this album. She just liked the Laid song, but didn't really get into the album. Let me tell you, I DID! This song "Five-O" was my mark as the beginning of a series of songs that just seems to flow together, making me feel euphoric and strangely isolated from the world. I thank her for finding that Laid song for me. I also thank at that time Columbia House for sending me the free cds. Hehe

@kenneth tolbert I heard this album in 1993. It was a loveshack! The best of the Madchester Sound, no doubt And still up to now, Laid belongs to the few discs I would save from my burning house. But no hurry, I like my house...

This is my go to album. Absolutely agree. This album is a masterpiece of emotional depth.
