I'll say it again.. People are so disconnected with music production these days & only listen to trend-setting "Flow" of a shitty rap. It takes weeks, even months to create a solid track as hot as this. And yet some rapper walks into the studio (Late if you're Kanye) & just does a few crappy takes of typical shit made up on the spot in half an hour. I'm not afraid to go against the grain here & call rappers out. It's time they left good music alone & it's time people start interpreting music without some back-capped poet wannabe shouting over it.

What experience do you have of creating solid tracks or raps. If rapping was that easy we'd all be doing it making millions. But we're not. Cos we can't.

You MUST be joking, right? There's rappers on every street these days. The market is so over saturated with this rap shit. If a lazy guy can't be fucked to take music lessons, or learn their craft, or study how to produce, mix or master, & he can't be bothered to sing... He just talks over generic beats instead. My problem is that this isn't just any old generic beat. Not by a long shot.

James himself admitted that after he realised Kayne wasn't going to add anything to this beat, he changed it & it became something utterly aberrant in the end. I reckon people haven't the ability to listen to music any more. They need someone telling them how to feel during it. I'd go as far as to say that a large percentage of Rap enthusiasts are most likely tone deaf people.

It didn't work. The break at 1:09 is too overpowering for vince's flow. it just sounds noisy and unpleasant. Thats a hard beat to rap over, maybe kanye would've been better

@snowee I don't think so. When it comes to James Blake's production, you need an artist that reacts to the music and fits the style and sound just like James himself does. For example, RZA on Take a Fall For Me was perfect. Vince just doesn't sound right to me. Kanye I think would've been a better fit.

i agree that its a lil off kilter but the timbre of his voice sounded right to me maybe it was just like the mix? he was really low in the track vince also sounds a lot more subdued in this track than I'm used to which only added to it
