Jam, The - Slow Down Lyrics
Well come on pretty baby
won't you walk with me
come on pretty baby
won't you talk with me
come on baby
try to save me and our romance
Slow down
Baby,
I'm not movin'away too fast
you better give me a little love,
give a little love
baby what I love the best
baby after school
carry your books home too
and now you got a boyfriend
down the street
baby what you tryin' to do?
you better slow down
Babe,
I'm not movin'away too fast
you better give a little love,
give a little love
baby what I love the best
[Solo]
So your a little lover
tell the way I do
come on pretty baby
walk two by two
I'll let you love me
your so fine child
the best woman I've ever had
slow down
Babe,
I'm not movin'away too fast
you better give a little love,
give a little love
baby what I love the best
slow down
slow down
slow down
slow down baby
slow down
slow down

Oh man, been trying to find this particular performance for awhile, thanks.
Still raw.
The Jam were a band like no other & the raw energy here is just mindblowing ? An absolute classic performance this...

BOTS brought me here...
what a waste of time this band, trying to sing SLOW DOWN, i couldn't listen to it, absolute RUBBISH, turned it off and i expect they got paid well for it, sorry to thier fans but it was terrible,

No holding back, all out attack....this is fucking rock 'n' roll how it was meant to be
i saw these bad boys live a few times... awesome
pure rockabilly
rickenbackers are so cool but so damn expensive
how much do they cost?
@anarcho vegan New say £2100 for a 330.
Green Day carried the torch. Good tunes and they got chops.
These guys play faster than Motorhead
And a hundred times better!!!
Motorhead Rock!!
Venga ya. No flipes. Jam molaban mucho, pero nunca serán más rápidos que Motorhead.
punk fuckin' rock
Oh yeah!!!
So so glad that there is this footage and you shared it!!
i have 'setting suns'. it transcends punk. it's more like the clash without all that disgusting reggae shit.
A shame I wasn't hip to the Jam til later after the heyday, really appreciate this band.
I want this song, this version of this song, played at my funeral, full blast!
Maximum Rock & Roll, Minimum R&B
The version of this song I was familiar with was The Beatles version. As much as I adore that one, I also love this particular blend of punk and rockabilly. Great tune.
Check out the original. Larry Williams
Whaou !!!
Good tune then and now!
Simply the best!
esos ojazos Paul.... <3
Raw , wish id been there .
They call this rock n roll. Sounds nice.
amazing , its got balls, real music, not crap like green day
You're right bands like Green day are plastic punk
Hardly plastic punk, just a different spin on it.
Foxton is a fucking beast on bass
this is a fucking amazing rock'n roll
Love how audiences used to roar and cheer instead of that awful poofy whoooooping in a high squeaky voice that most people do these days. I refuse to go woooooo. I still cheer.
+Dave Cochrane I'm with you mate on that, same as your mates were geezers or blokes not guys.
@someblokecalleddave1 Dave, I hold up my pint of bitter to you (none of that poncey diabetes-in-a-bottle vodka+piss alcopop).
Dave Cochrane woooooo! Don’t forget to say awesome or they rock! FFS🤮
You ever seen footage of the Beatles live?
... Paul must of scared his dad sometimes (very often lol...) They were so, so, so good. Even aged 50 I love it!!!!
@Michael Cross No reason to love it any less because you're 50. Great music is timeless. It'll be around for way longer than we will and no one's going to love it any less because, by then, it's quite old. You don't hear many Classical music buffs complaining that Beethoven isn't 'good' anymore because his music is "old", do you? I rest my case.
Here what happens when you wait too long for someone - you burn out!
Fantastic post .
Have a wonderful Time Dear Dreamer .
Take care and be well .
Lara .
Good afternoon. Wonderful post .Thank you .
Actually, it's Larry Williams' song...but it's quite possible they knew it first from The Beatles
+IgNaceus No Weller was aware of the original.
@someblokecalleddave1 Perhaps, but I don't think they listened to Larry's version first
I reckon this version owes more to the original than the lame version by the Beatles - what do you reckon?
I'm sorry, I think it sounds a bit closer to The Beatles' rendition
someblokecalleddave1 The Beatles version was far from lame!!!!!!!!!
The Best of British...........
RICKENBACKERS IN FULL EFFECT!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi angryeel,,I think Bruce was using,,, (in the very early days),,, a (Ibanez,,,rickenbacker,,,copy),,,
@floyd Lay in early years he use Höfner
@floyd Lay I think that when they got their Polydor advance Weller bought Rickenbackers including the 4002/3 used here. Foxton did have an Ibanez copy but I think that was obtained in a attempt to find one that didn't sound like a Rickenbacker....though why anyone wouldn't want its tone as well as appearance is beyond me.
A speed fuelled performance.
I would `nt say he was a total `Billy Hunt` but his music is rather stodgy.
the jam are good. but not the clash good
No one compares with Clash. They are head and shoulders above any other punk or rock band on the planet. But Jam are definitely great band.
I would say that The Clash is about the ONLY band that equals the quality of The Jam(CERTAINLY IN TERMS OF LIVE)........Both bands: FUCKING, FUCKING, FUCKING BRILLIANT........GOD, how I miss REAL Rock n' Roll.
Both hands are good but The Jam were far better
The Clash is pop rock, nothing to do here!
I feel it most days then :)
His jaws were always chomping away....
Do you know me then ??
Music today needs a punk mentality
You need a tissue modette69er
Awesome R & B.
they got the point across fine ... just fucking rock it . Jam it like this alway's. it's good enought for this punk.
I knew this fool. You're jus tryin ta cover up....naughty and foolish
Fucked up (in a good way)
jog on you fool
I'm a MASSIVE Beatles fan, but they did a cover of a song just like the jam did. And this is a PUNK version where as beatles did a ROCK N ROLL VERSION. And it is nothing like the beatles version. in the chorus, they miss out Johns 'AHHHH' and the lip roll John does. the chorus is faster. the jam version has more bpm that the beatles version, its nothing like the beatles version so fuck off
Even though it's Larry Williams. Nob Head
missed a spot shaving there paul.
I can see here where Paul was influenced by Wilco Johnson.
unharnessed energy....still grips me!
Learning something new everday... cool..
Love it Larry Williams song played at 100mph, you never grow old with Rock and Roll modette69er so keep rockin man.
Each to their own opinion.
By the way,it's a Larry William's song...The Beatles did a cover version of it too.
GENIOUS!
I LOVE when that TV image 'fused up' to the real live image. great effect!
If I was Rick on the drums I'd be dead by the end of this
It´s amazing!
Excellent!
the Jam -seven S-es -sweat,suits,style ,skill speed,social-comments,and....oh shit thats only six
that the electric circus in manchester i think was first shown on `so it goes` the show made by tony wilson (factory records boss) the shown had previously had the pistols doing a great version of `anarchy`
good stuff guys , good luck ....
Ha ha ha! "debateable if i've actually grown up at all". I liked that. I totally agree. Me too I love The Jam. I followed them everywhere when i was a teenager. The energy was so bloody good. We were dying from the excitement of it all. Great lyrics and great music.
wow, this is fucking crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its so fast and so insane! i like how they blended rock n roll with punk on this one.
"the essence of youth"
thank you for the upload -
as i remember them, fantastic stuff... at their best.
Man...great song! Now I'm hyper..
Larry Williams cover....
great song but you do know it's a beatles cover ....right
The finest..
This is The Jam. This is RAW - Fuck the x-factor bollocks of today. This is a REAL cover version. Wake up the youth and slap their heads out of their iPhones. The power provided in this video would cripple a member of society. Saw Bruce with Stiff Little Fingers back in 90 something and he had the same zest for playing as he had back in this video. Can't we get the threesome back together to show the kids where it's at?
Fucking awesome.
now thats what its about ......the jam kicking it flat out......
Hyped up on teenage angst, testosterone fuelled performance by The Jam...passion oozing out of all three of them. They are my all time favourite band, growing up listening to them, debateable if ive actually grown up at all, because every time I hear The ~Jam, i resort back to my youth, with the memories, The Jam give me. Thankyou for posting all the songs that i adore, and have been waiting so long for.... made an old person very happy indeed. K.T.F.
REALLY digging the passion/fury of the delivery... "the kid" must be 17-18 here?
