I was loving this song until he started cussing. Normally, I have no problem with cussing, but in this kind of song, it really kills the atmosphere for me. It sorta goes from deep and soulful to vulgar and topical. Too bad too, the song is otherwise amazing!

Personally disagree when greiving anger is a real emotion that a lot of people deal with and language is a tool that can be used to express emotion and in that moment the artist was angry and an explicit word is what felt right for him. Remember as much as we all love to enjoy music for many musicians this is truly how they express themselves.

Reminds me of something that Anthony Hamilton would sing. Very good and to all those that seem to get insulted by the word "fuck" being used in the song, it adds intensity rather than anger to the song.

Fuck was not needed because it is contradicting emotions that were first presented to the listener. It is showing anger not the sadness shown in the first part of the song. It was placed there probably by an AR or a producer to get a shock/wow factor added into the song.

@MidNite303 Cursing sometimes adds power and emphasizes how serious you are about something; it's not always just about conveying anger. Maybe the lyrics are intended to show frustration, like in the way that the singer is frustrated with himself for feeling so weak and helpless without Simone.

sᴜᴢɪᴇ I'm also sensing frustration in it not so much anger. It's almost like the first part he's trying to keep his composure and hide his desperation, but then grows frustrated when his plea is not met.
