First off, this official Jackson 5 video is like a promotional short film. Second, it wasn't really Michael Gibson who directed this clip, it was Bruce Bowers who directed it, you know, the British director who was with Michael Jackson's 2 videos for "Rock with You" & "Out of my Life". Bruce also directed Queen's video for the international hit "Bohemian Rhapsody"! (The best 1970's music video clip to go viral!)

Still my all-time favorite song by The Jacksons! The best, the lyrics, & lastly the video is timeless. This video/movie was ahead of its time. I was only 8 at the time, but still remember how it made me feel at the time. I wanted to live in that world. I didn’t even really know the impact Michael Jackson would have later... then the Motown special came... the rest is history.

This song gave me goosebumps in my childhood back in the seventies & still does today. It has a killer beat. Never gets old. Everyone credits the Thriller film clip of being the first short (movie) film & transforming music videos into a serious art form. Thats not true, Can you feel it was the first. It never got that recognition because it wasnt as popular as thriller.

The music and effects drowns out the singing. If I didn't already know it was Randy on the vocals, I never would've figured it out. It is not just this particular video either, I have seen other versions that were the same. Nice to get to hear someone besides Michael or Jermaine singing. I think Jermaine still hadn't gone back by then. I was pissed when Jermaine left, he had a sexier more deep voice than Michael. They sound great together though.
This makes me sad that Michael is gone. I think in retrospect, the Jackson 5, Thriller, Bad, etc..Michael died long before his body did. It's a shame that entire family was a clusterfk, their father did a number on them for sure. I hope Michael found that childhood he so wanted and missed wherever he may be now.
