Jackson, Alan - Walk On The Rocks Lyrics
After seventeen years behind bars
And lookin' back on his mistakes
He sat down and poured out his heart
When his son came to see him today
Tryin' to hold back the tears
He said I ain't been much of a father
Son, I wish I could turn back the years
'Cause life's like a river
And the water is deep
Cross it with care
Or you'll end up like me
Let my mistakes
Be your steppin' stones
He said son stay away from the bottle
Watch out for the company you keep
And hold on to those you love
'Cause love is a man's greatest need
The right way may not be easy
The right road ain't always straight
Son, please don't follow the footsteps
'Cause life's like a river
And the water is deep
Cross it with care
Or you'll end up like me
Let my mistakes
Be your steppin' stones
And walk on the rocks that I stumbled on
Walk on the rocks that I stumbled on

Jackson, Alan Walk On The Rocks Comments
Alan Jackson is my favorite country singer I want to meet him so bad
After doing a little over 17 years behind bars myself since I was 8 years of age in over 40 different jails and every prison Oregon had to offer at the time, and at 65 now, I would like to dedicate this song to my son and daughter, who, have no use for me at this time in their lives, and, who both stumbled on the same rocks I fell down on many times...! No amount of shame have I endured that cripples me more than their failures as my children knowing that it's because of my faults as a father...jj
i love all your Country songs.
