One of my favorite Tamla Motown album. A goddam perfect great song.

This was the first time that I heard this song in over *2* years. 🤓

You can really hear how with the last album J5 that Motown was trying to make strides in maturing the Jackson sound. The only issue was the brothers wanted to write and produce for themselves. This is a great track shich shows the chemistry between Michael and Jermaine once Michael's voice started to mature.

Hello. This song is a play on words. In America a moving violation is something a driver of an automobile does that is against law. For instance, a STOP sign means the driver must stop the automobile at the sign at at the place along the street where the stop sign is located. So in this song the Jackson 5 are singing about a girlfriend who let another boy get too close to her. She should have not done that or should have made the boy stop. I hope this helps.

I Dynamic song Always was always will be.

The album cover seems like a 'light hearted' view of what a moving violation could mean. But really it may be a response to the older Jackson Brothers being stopped by police for 'driving while black in a nice car' in rich L.A. Neighborhoods. Michael talked about in that "private phone call interview" he had with "his friend", he said his brothers were always getting stopped for no reason, just because of them being black driving a Rose Royce.

This is one of the baddest most slept-on albums

motown at the time was kinda done with the J5, they saw that/or really thought their best days were far behind them so they stopped mostly promoting them starting with Skywriter, Moving Violation is a good album but it has problems with Time Explosion being on it, I can't get into the song. The other songs are great. I think also people weren't ready to see the brothers grow, But it's sad Skywriter-Moving Violation were flops. Good interesting directions they kinda tried but it just didn't good enough, I love the song "Moving Violation" they didn't promote song though at all but I saw one performance and they were great, Michael doing the breakdown with the feet and hip pop it was cool. J5 knew how to put on amazing dances unlike todays "artists" "groups"

The Jackson 5 left Motown and went to Epic Records. They had to change their name to The Jacksons. They ended up making 6 albums after this. 🧐

Written by Brian and Eddie Holland and Michael B. Smith. The Holland Brothers returned to Motown in 1975 and produced this song and also "We're Almost There" and "Just A Little Bit of You" on a solo album by Michael Jackson. The "Moving Violation" album by The Jackson Five and the "Forever, Michael" album by Michael Jackson were very popular. I still have the vinyl versions of each album.

The albums were flops. I love Forever, Michael. I don't get why it flopped. Those albums sold less then their others before starting with Skywriter really, "Lookin' Through The Windows" is a good album and one of my favorites, some people say they started decline during that album and on but I think it was tiny signs with Maybe Tomorrow album and on. I love some of the tracks of "Moving Violation", but the album was gonna fell since Motown hadn't really cared much for the group past 73 and on. I love "All I Do" "Forever Came Today" "Breezy" "Body Languish" "Moving Violation" and also "Honey Love" But the rest of the album is not good or hold a candle to these songs. It sucks Motown didn't promote these guys once they started hitting teens. Granted they were still hot in live performances but the album sales kept dropping to the point Motown kinda almost didn't want to record the group anymore.

This is one of my all time favorite Jackson 5 tracks. They use to always be on all the top variety shows of that era. When this track came out I loved the groove of the song and the way the hook flows. This is the Motown funk machine at its best. Michael's vocals were on point as always and the groove makes you want to dance.

Standing in the shadow of Motown, once again the Funk Brothers.
