Downtempo IWABO goes hard

I must say this surprised me. I had heard about this band and that they were considered an offshoot of metalcore, so I naturally stayed away thinking they would sound like Asking Alexandria or some shit like that. This new material actually interests me.

So do they have any songs that do not have that fuzz/distortion on the vox? Just started to check out some tunes from these guys, and so far, all have that same vocal sound. I'm usually all for screams, gutterals and whatnot, but this is just annoying. Musically it's pretty creative, not a fan of the tones, but overall very creative musically ruined by generic distorted "screams" Any suggested tunes to check out?

need to do more of a variety of different sounding songs and melodies in the album so that all the songs don't sound the same, let the guitarist go mad with a solo as well i think that would be awesome. that being said this is great and i cant wait to hear more

Everyone keeps talking shit between sub-genres which is dumb. So many people miss out on so many good bands because of the labels that have been put on them. There is simply METAL and metal isn't the biggest style out there so stop breaking it into smaller sections. Assholes slow the progression of metal in the masses.

@Netjak The guitarists for both bands have a very "avant garde"style of playing. Essentially, an experimental sound. Thus the similarities you speak of. Just an evolution of both groups of musicians that seems to have hit a similar threshold. Either way it's a great listen.

Yup. Plus iwabo's new guitarist was the lead guitarist for a band named Fall In Archaea, which also had a pretty danza-esque style, so i'm sure that helped push it in that direction. I dig it.

This band OBVIOUSLY still has their technical guitars you can hear it in this song. But this single in particular is heavier than their previous work. And it's fucking great. IWABO rose to fame with the ridiculous samples and random parts.  And you lost every bit of it.  Not saying the music is bad for what it is, just saying you lost your way and turned in to nothing more than a typical deathcore band.

They're FAR from being "typical" anything lol. Granted I didn't like their last album much their shit has always always always been unique. This new stuff just seems to have more of a structure compared to their out right mind fucking craziness on their old shit. It still is that pure mathcore oddness they've always had tho.

These vocals are atrocious. Krysta had so much range. This is just garbled, gutter al screaming...which can be cool, if she had more range. But she doesnt.
Looks like I may be done with these guys. Sadly.
