Isley Brothers, The - Showdown, Pts. 1 & 2 Lyrics

Who's to blame
Whats his name?
Where's he from?
Is that my range hes drivin...
Tell me whats he got that I ain't got alot of
Besides who is he to lay in the covers of my home
Oooooo! my home
Now lets not forget her misses
Shes nothing like my mother
God rest her soul ooooooo
Took her of these streets gave her everything
I was the one that belived in all of her dreams and she did me wrong
So prepare yourself..

Its about to be a showdown
Its goin down
Somebodys been foolin around in my home, wearin my clothes, drivin my car
God help me
Its a showdown
Its goin down
Somebodys been foolin around in my home, wearin my clothes, drivin my car
Its on
Now first things first
Where's this cat from

Isley Brothers, The Showdown, Pts. 1 & 2 Comments

Great to hear this after a hiatus love this track part 1 and 2 the vocals, the bass, the keyboards, the guitar, the drums. They all come together as a huge wall of wonderful funk, that transends the decades.

  2. N.... N....

I love some Isley brothers for Real man.

  3. A.... D....

When the Isley Brothers released this " ShowDown " album back in 1978 it just seemed like fresh new sound & music from them. I was sold from the first release " Take me to the next phase. I was like, is that the Isley Brothers? Boi! It just wasn't like any of their previous music They've put out before this album, and then when they released the second release " Coolin' me out " and the album was released as well. I told my brothers I gotta get this album and so we would put our money together and get the album, and man I played this album to death along with playing & practising the drums to each song on the album...great memories!!! 🎶 🎶

I started listening to these guys when I was 17 years old. And I still love it. 😎

  15. j.... p....

The 3 original Isley brother's (Ronald, Rudolph and Kelly never smiled) the reason why is because of all the hell that they went through at the hands of many people who tried to stop them from making it, but it's hard to keep a good man down.

  16. J.... B....

When this MONSTER OF A HIT came out I was really scared for my Boy, the GREAT SUGAR RAY LENORD!!! At the time he was about to have a real "SHOW DOWN" with the HIT MAN, Tommy Hearns!!! For the much younger GENERATION: The PLAYERS only had two Cable Stations to order the BIG FIGHT on, SELECT T.V. & ON T.V.!!! LOL 😁 Once the Suga Man busted that Boy's Ass, this song really became another favorite of the many other countless Songs I dearly LOVE!!! (R.I.P. O'KELLY & MARVIN, ELDEST & YOUNGEST of the Group)....😎

  20. C.... L....

The Isleys Brothers bought the funk out in the 70's. Go to a Isleys Brothers concert back in da day....ya had to be sure you come out funkafied!!

It would be Friday at 5.01pm. Straight out the door from work. Within 2 seconds of being in the car this tune would be blaring, ringing in the weekend on the drive home. nothing better.

  30. r.... ....

Word had it (and I've read) Ernie played the thump bass on the recordings, Marvin played natural bass.. Can someone come with the truth? Please?

    r.... ....

Chris could play anything.. however Ernie started off playing bass and drums .. alot of ppl want to say Hendrix taught him ..but that isnt true . He is a self taught guitarist...and comes from his mouth
