Isakov, Gregory Alan - John Brown's Body Lyrics

Theres always the creaks and the strangest sounds
John brown’s body was never found
But the locals see him walkin round

There’s a ‘for sale’ sign on the old farm roads
There’s a silo empty and done for
The place just ain't the same no more

Now its shinin all them different ways, crimson blues and yellow shades
Theres snow up in the way
And those clouds still full of rain

There’s work in town or so they say
Just blessed to fill our hands today
God knows if it will ever pay

And we fill our hands with wood and steel
And grace is a woman we all long to feel
You know someday we will…you know someday we will

There’s always the creaks and the strangest sounds
John brown’s body’s up and walkin round
Countin all the riches that he’s found

And he throws it all in that wishing well
Made it home in the morning hail…there’s snow up in the way
And those clouds still full a rain

I'm about to see him again next week. I have been trying to take in all of his music a little at a time. I can obsess over one song for a week or two. Saw him back in July and he was amazing. Here I am on Halloween night and I just found this spooky, beautiful song. I can't stop playing it. All the trick or treaters have to listen to it.

I'm four months late, but there you go anyway! :)
Enjoy listening & reading. It's a very beautiful song.

Recently I discovered your music and it hit me so deeply, into my last corner of my soul! I was lucky! And I also found 2CD's on amazon that are NOT available anymore! A gifted musician! Like Neil Young! Just great! 😊🙋

    M.... H....

Yeah, NEIL, that's the music I alternate with songs of this genius, personally I think that Gregory is the Nick Drake of our times. So, here is the third musician of this awesome caliber.

I think this is my favorite track on the album
