If there is something like a metal culture, it is by far superior to culture of any other music genre. Never have I heard rock or pop artists make a song just about music. I've heard an awful lot of rap diss-tracks, insults in form of a song. I have however, heard plenty of metal songs about metal itself, songs being tributes and homages to other bands and artists. And that, quite frankly, is awesome.
