Grew up in Philly back in the 50's, 60's & 70's. We had some tremendous singing groups back then. The Intruders, The Delfonics, The Stylistics, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, Blue Magic. God knows I could go on and on but we also had some that many may have never even heard of that were great but didn't make it big. It was a magical time growing there back then.

Born and raised in North Philly I used to listen to WDAS AM 1480 Georgie Woods, Jimmy Bishop,Carl Helm, Butterball, Johnny O, Larry Daly and so many others on WHAT 1340 Sonny Hopson, Lloyd Fatman,

Lil Sonny's ( RIP) He has the most endearing, magical and musical voice of all time. Never has there been any other male singer with the diversity that he has displayed.  Bobby Star was lead singer for the Intruders back in the day for about two years, and Bobby Star did an amazing job on a few of there hits songs.. such as " When We Get Married, Bet He Don't Love You Like I Love You ", " Pray For Me",  " Girl Scouting" and "This Is My Love Song".... These songs were Bobby Stars accomplishments, job well done!!!. The Intruders were most definitely Underrated!!!!……One if not the best groups in my book of all time... Thank god for Soul Train or we would not have any video clips... or like one from the late 1960's.... They were not promoted as well as the other Philly Groups, unfortunately and sadly they did not get their due. Bobby Star is still alive, not sure why he was not approached to discuss the group during his time with them  or the other last original member of the group, why wasn't this member approached. Gamble did a video and discussion about the group, but it's not the same. In fact its sad that he gets to represent the group and speak very little about them. I know Gamble and Huff made phenomenal contributions with writing, producing and establishing the "Philly" groups  such as the Intruders and others, but it just sad that the Intruders are remembered as a blur and not as the spark of light and beauty for the music & sound they delivered in their songs. Please tell there story from the inside and not from the outside... I want to hear about the heart of the group, families.... not the people who made money from them, because of course..... it's never gonna be in there best interest especially after their all gone or almost gone..... Never to be forgotten..." Do You Remember" sung be Bobby Star of the Intruders. Yes we want them to be remember...…………….

The voice on this sounds a little different, I don't think its Lil Sonny's beautiful voice. I think it might me the voice of the Intruders that says " the tender line" on " I Always Love My Momma" I guess the only two that can answer that question is " Gamble & Huff. Its not Bobby Starr.
