I personally greatly dislike death metal screaming like this but the tune and the way the song is written is super good and complex! This is the only death metal song I like and I even happen to enjoy the screaming part somehow!

I agree with Aria - melodeath metal is very different from death metal. Singers in both genres use the death metal growl, but they use it in very different ways. The music surrounding the growl is also very different. I love Insomnium. If you dig this song, I recommend that you check out Arch Enemy, especially the new stuff after Jeff Loomis (Nevermore) joined the band.

Crossover Metal? I think you mean Nu Metal and their self titled debut album was far better than Iowa, while still a fantastic album. It lacked the raw emotion of the first.

Have to say that this song was disappointing. The first 30 seconds were something really amazing, thought I was in Insomnium heaven! Then it goes on with self repeating and monotonic tunes only to be broken by what's left of the beginning's beautiful part after 3 minutes. A few seconds of the end are nice too. This song has so much potential but not utilizing more the tunes in the beginning it doesn't become very re-playable. I think they should clean some of the songs. Sometimes less is more!

We can't compare insomnium with slipknot. I think that the two are great but insomnium is just waow, I can't describe them. The problem with slipknot is that they're too commercial for metal, and than they have lots of poser saying that "slipknot is the most brutal", "slipknot is more metal than CC", "It is death metal",... THIS IS BULLSHIt and the people saying that are STUPID POSER. I like slipknot but I hate that someone say bullshit like that about them!

Egal ob im Metal oder allgemeinen Musikbereich, ich höre auch nur Metal und Rock aber mir kann doch egal sein was die anderen mögen und was nicht.... Lasst die Musik einfach Musik sein (Jeder kann Musik für sich selbst interpretieren) ,egal ob es eueren Geschmack trifft oder nicht. Ich heul doch auch nicht rum weil andere Menschen Pop hören statt Metal auch wenn Metal für mich mehr ist als nur Musik, aber etwas Toleranz wäre angebracht........

I listen to alot of Amon Amarth too :). Also one of my favorites.

This is my #1 band. I've never really found one I like better. I like a lot of bands but these guys just get more epic every time and it's hard to fathom how they manage.
