The fat Finnish kid takes the video from good to great. Yes, I get that he's supposed to be the last human being in the world or something along those lines. And the song is a nice balance between brutal and melodic.

Wow, so amazing! That hook on chorus, it literally makes you sing along!! Never thought that Death Metal band can do so awesome composing and arrangements... So many nice hooks, almost like Muse, lead guitar doing backing vocals melody, killing riffs, emotional solos and lyrics that are so cool, beatiful, melancholic and with a deep meaning, I can relate to every their song! Fucking awesome band!

Thing song was stuck in my head, it took me a while to remember which one it was! I always liked the old Insomnium but the newer albums are growing on me

I love this, especially at 3:20. This whole album is amazing.

just like the IPhone.. .insomnium is not for everyone...these works of art r just for the elites ; such sophistacted co-productions are possible just coz the artists behind INSOMNiUM have a league of their own; their works are far classier and incomprehensible to the general masses, having a shallow understanding. If I ever venture on writing a book ..I will select INSOMNIUM's works as the focus of my book since this group has transformed melodeath and the whole of metal- the notion of metal being all wild screams and behaviours has been put to extinction by INSOMNIUM. Not only their lyrics, but accompanied by their sorrowful music and not to forget the powerful ejaculation of the vocal, evoke all the emotions that take us closer to reality and help us grow as a person. I love my depression just coz INSONIUM is there to make me gain strength from my sorrows and pain. They are the poets of the modern age to me. INSOMNIUM ALL THE WAY 🙌

That's what I was thinking. Also I personally think iPhones are trash. But that aside, I agree -for the most part- with how you described Insomnium.

@Olivier Lepage Yeah, my personal favourite time of metal is from about 1990's to early 2000's but our days the bands I listen to went shit an example is in flames used to be amazing now mtv friendly >_> some bands are still good like insomnium still make nice quality metal and dark tranquillity etc. but the 90's where the best, gothenburg scene and the peaceville 3 that made death doom and the creation of technical death metal \m/ the thing that makes metal is we demand good quality! :)

Woods of Ypres lyrics doesn't make you cry. They just make you question so many things in your life and actually have a pretty accurate point of view on how we try to live our lifes nowadays, well, that if you are the kind that wants to know if there is more to live than what we have already (modern society). So this alone won't make you cry but fall into a deep depression :D But on the other hand, it can also cure you from depression, Woods of Ypres was such an special band.

I think that everyone has to find his own favorite band. For me this music is just beautiful, because of its melancholy and especially because of its lyrics. For me there are only two better Melodic-Death-bands that are better: Amon Amarth and Dark Tranquillity). So they're not overrated if I say they are one of the best bands in the world...

SOILWORK's "The Living Infinite" fucking slays anything I've heard so far for this year. Tho Omnium Gatherum and Fractal Gates' albums are very good as well. Waiting to see whatever DT churns out too...

Insomnium are very very good, but I hate that they've rapidly become another one of those "I love to overrate that band" bands...

It's quite the beautiful spot. Rather that then any other dark scene, like in the streets or something... Being surrounded by natures living atmosphere would probably be suited for them in their most songs...

there's a very similar forest in a lot of kalmah's videos, too. I sort of assumed finland was entirely covered in a vast, swampy forest. it would explain a lot.
