ah, I see what you mean. I'm not as musically gifted; I'm more of a writer, so I thought that was what you meant. :) It's nice when people can enlighten each other on youtube... a nice change of pace.

I just went and listened to Face Down, but I don't feel like the two songs are the same. To me, Soldier is more about the internal battle (with the heart) than a physical battle/abuse situation. When I listen to it, I am thinking of trying to reign in the feelings one feels, maybe for someone who doesn't feel the same back or one shouldn't love, etc. But even if you interpret it physically, the idea that songs (or writing or culture) are recycled is true and has already been established.

A TV show on Lifetime that just finished its fourth season. The premise is that a beautiful, somewhat vapid model dies and chooses to press the 'return' button to come back to earth... but she wakes up in the body of a plus-size lawyer. She has to adjust to a new life in which only her best friend and her guardian angel (who looks like a human) know who she really is. And to keep it complicated, her former fiancee is her new coworker. The show is a great blend of drama, comedy, romance, and law.

This song never gets old. I love it : )

@pomoapple Got a serious hatred for the show or something? People make a comment that the way they heard this song is through a show. There are so many people who had never even heard of this song before, and probably not even the artist, until they watched the show that everyone is referring to, it's called good publicity. People aren't saying, "Oh my goodness this song is awesome only because it appeared on Drop Dead Diva." I mean damn, no need to get all malevolent on people.

@nikkirenee321 Ditto except I knew it was Ingrid when I heard it! Got to see her live in Atlanta about 4 years ago. (Coincidentally, Drop Dead Diva is also filmed in Atlanta, and I used to work on the show!)
