Incubus - You Will Be A Hot Dancer Lyrics

Damn, this situation's new to me, why?
I see a head afraid to be himself,
I bet he'd to have a little
encouragement from the opposite,
come that side of the floor...Yes!
Egg him along, make him feel at ease with himself,
steal his clothes, leave him his shoes,
let's get this marmaduke naked!
Everybody help make him feel at ease,
let's get this maraduke naked
so lose your head and go to pieces.....
Don't you make fun of me...
don't you make fun of me!
I'm gonna be, gonna be,
I'm gonna be a hot dancer!
Oohh... now that the basics are down,
converse amongst yourselves.
But, keep an eye out for the next complication.
In other words,
grab the next motherfucker marmaduke,
who refuses to subdue to these pelvic ostentations.
I can't wait until the syllables bend.
Let's get this marmaduke naked,
let's get this marmaduke naked...
so lose your head and go to pieces!
Don't you make fun of me...
don't you make fun of me!
I'm gonna be,
gonna be,
I'm gonna be a hot dancer!

Dude, I didn’t know Mike Patton and Les Claypool were apart of Incubus! That’s fucking dope!

    A.... ....

I know right! Can’t believe they manage to get Chad Smith on drums too. 👀

  3. R.... V....

The best album with science. The rest of soup.

  4. D.... M....

dude, this is my favorite Faith No More song!

    D.... M....

They spelt Faith No More wrong. Like how could they misspell it that bad

    D.... M....

there’s other ways to spell it. such as Mr Bungle Stubb A Dub, Fath No More Epic and Red Hot Chili Peppers If You Have To Ask

    D.... M....

    I'm cried

  5. W.... D....

Love incubus and anything mike Patton related but I absolutely hate everything the chillis do

    W.... D....

I like rhcp with the exception of kiedis...

    W.... D....

@rabbid taco kiedis ruins everything about them for me. Takes away from the integrity of the entire band

    W.... D....

@Watson Delmick Yeah, I got mad respect for frusciante

    W.... D....

@rabbid taco yeah I gotta agree with you on that one

  6. L.... V....

This is what happens at the end of band practice when you're over it and everyone starts being a dick but someone took this embarrassing moment and put it out as an album.

  7. S.... A....

This seed planted was this song and it grew into some epic ass tree

  9. J.... G....

    I don't care for metal-y Incubus.

    J.... G....

    I don't care for non-metal-y incubus.

    J.... G....

I care for funk metal incubus

    J.... G....

I Hope you mean the death metal ones

  10. A.... ....

This version seems to differ from the one on "Enjoy Incubus" or is it just me ?

    A.... ....

No you're right. The FA songs on Enjoy Incubus are re-recorded versions with DJ Lyfe added. For my part I prefer these versions.

  11. G.... S....

Mike surely use in the solo a heavy reverb/delay

  12. K.... K....

Sounds straight up like Mr. Bungle and Faith No More

  13. S.... R....

Is this vocalist a clone of Jonathan Davis?

    S.... R....

Isaia Panduri Well, a clone of a clone.

    S.... R....

Isaia Panduri nope but he is Mike Patton's clone

  14. j.... r....

    nowadays still make me headbang

  15. M.... ....

    let's get this marmaduke naked!

  16. s.... i....

I didn't know that a Mike Patton is Vocalist of Incubus.

    s.... i....

    Yeah man def fnm influence

  17. M.... ....

This song is literally Phishs "You Enjoy Myself" in a Mr. Bungle style

    M.... ....

@Richard D. Strid II Uhhh yup.. Im pretty sure incubus would even agree.. One of the very 1st things they thanked in the notes on this album was Phish.. and if you ever heard the song, you would've seen the influence right away. #FactsDontCareAboutYourFeelings

    M.... ....

I listened to the song. They sound nothing alike. Just because they gave a shout out to Phish does not prove this song was based on theirs. I think you are confused about what facts are.

    M.... ....

@Richard D. Strid II Boy. Man. God. Shit..... You are deaf lol

    M.... ....

@ModalGroove I'll give it another listen, everyone makes mistakes, but they sounded very different to me the first time.

    M.... ....

    they sound nothing alike whatsoever

  18. K.... H....

    naj se smejat z mene...ja bum jeben plesac....love it...didn't heard for years..medimurje rulls :)

  19. 8.... ....

sounds like early korn, both bands became shit later on so more similarities

    8.... ....

@8gerrard8 I don't think you know what you're talking about

  20. D.... V....

whoa... fungus amongus is one funky ass album. never knew this side of incubus

    D.... V....

Chili peppers are terrible. Go check out Mr Bungle and Phish. Incubus is pretty much a mix of those 2 bands

    D.... V....

+ModalGroove I take it you don't like RHCP?

    D.... V....

    why wouldn't I they're legendary!

    D.... V....

    Greedyselfish97 fuck RHCP

    D.... V....

Seriously though, fuck RHCP. What a bust. Not even that chilli, to be honest with you. Incubus was NEVER anything like them; way more resonant to Faith No More and Mr. Bungle, during Incubus' funk era. If you don't believe me, do the comparison yourself & see first-hand. Even said so themselves, they were heavily influenced by Patton's work.

  21. J.... ....

    You are schizophroenic.

  22. C.... M....

And this isn't on iTunes... Why?

    C.... M....

    Because iTunes is a cunt

    C.... M....

Incubus themselves aren't proud of this record and only gave it a token re-issue because of fan demand. Since they control what gets released on streaming services, I'm guessing they didn't make this a priority.

    C.... M....

Fancy not being proud of this - it's an epic record!

  23. j.... s....

    pure peppers influence, sounds great

    j.... s....

Also, not everyone who has a differing opinion is "butthurt". Like I said... take your own advice and grow up. That shit is weak and played out.

    j.... s....

@Richard D. Strid II Flea is boring and overrated. RHCP always sucked. Get over it. butthurt.. and my orignal statement still stands, this song is pretty much a Mr Bungle version of Phishs You Enjoy Myself

    j.... s....

@ModalGroove You are really obsessed with people's butts. I think you should talk to a therapist. I am not sure this level of obsession is healthy. My point still stands. This is all a matter of opinion so acting like it is fact is silly. You bore me. Ciao.

    j.... s....

I like big female butts and can not lie.. Sorry that yours hurts so bad lol

    j.... s....

ModalGroove it kinda sounds like that rollercoaster of love song the chili peppers did. but the chili peppers covered that song and it came out in 96. the original was from the Ohio players. Brandons vocals sound like the chili peppers cover but the instruments sound like the Ohio players, but slowed down. well whatever, that's what it sounds like to me. that or Mr bungle's girls of porn.

  24. B.... M....

    cuiiiii

  25. B.... D....

15 when this was posted and 1 when this  came out      time flies!

  26. C.... M....

great song this band is really inspired by the chili peppers who is also one of my favorite bands.

  27. E.... ....

Why does this remind me of Mike Patton? Maybe I will give Incubus a shot. Any band that makes me think of Faith No More and Mr. Bungle is worth my time.

    E.... ....

    mr bungle is a god

    E.... ....

Then you gonna be so disappointed when you listen to their new stuff

    E.... ....

@Alvaro .Villagran Absolution Calling is good...

    E.... ....

    EnvelopsTheBathtub same lol

    E.... ....

Word to that. Also, they don't sound much like this anymore.

  28. e.... c....

have u ever been an artist before? wouldnt you think that as you age and mature, so would your art? wouldnt you want to reach out and do things that are different? i for one have matured along with incubus. and i like what theyre doing.

  29. a.... k....

Godammit people stop whining!! Put ur selves in their shoes .
Incubus is in such a different place nowadays ! You can particulary see it on Brandon on live shows. He can't write songs contrary to his process as a person. Such a talented amazing person.
They still have the same .. Same solid basis wich contains the DNA of Incubus.

  30. p.... d....

your right. there better. how can you say with 18 years more experience then there first album that they have gotten worse? if anything there lyrical and melodic message has gotten stronger. Music shouldnt be judged by genre when all genres have there own good music but however on there message and how well instruments accent the voice of that particular song. people who judge music by genre dont know what music really is they just like a particular sound.

  31. p.... d....

agreed^^ they have never played anything other then what they wanted to play. On top of that all the songs that people say are for mainstream that got big in reality never even really got that big compared to how big the other top songs from the real mainstream artists were when they came out. incubus is NOT the richest band out there by FAR and there is nothing that exists on this world that would point incubus out as a mainstream band even there 2011 album.

  32. p.... d....

yes and Incubus always has and always will make there own creative music.

  33. p.... d....

your completely wrong about that actually. the 2011 album was when they got old enough and finally realized that they gave no fucks to how much money they made or what people thought. There music carries the emotions of them and since they have gotten older and more mature so has there music. The best musicians can alter there music style and still be perceived as the same artist with the same mindset which is what they have been doing every album since 1995. not one album has ever been similar.

  34. p.... d....

yeah most bands do that but incubus has never changed there music to what the general population wants and never will. they music is ever changing because to do the same thing over and over would limit expression through music. None of there music is made or even in the same style as what the general population wants even there new album which is why all the members of incubus still consider themselves to be more of a live band then a band that records markets and distributes. u all know nothing

  35. s.... C....

"Damn, this situation's new to me, why?"

Brandon Boyds voice is amazing i love this album it was very good. always count on incubus to bring something new to the table.

  36. b.... l....

I just wanted to say the bands you mentioned are my favorite bands. And props on research, because no one does that now. TOOL, QOTSA, aaaaand....NIN (sorry, favorite of ALL time even though you didn't mention..)

  37. m.... m....

this was real incubus, second album too! after that there where absorbed by the commercial labels to make alternative rock music. poor story :( they even play those song any more!

  38. Y.... C....

Called Them Crooked Vultures man ^^

  39. M.... ....

One of those bands being the Muse. I have only liked one song of theirs and thats when the collaborated with The Streets to make Who Knows Who.

  40. s.... ....

I think you're not in the music industry or a musician, and so I don't think you really have the credentials to make a statement like that. There are plenty of bands that keep artistic integrity but also sell fucktons of albums. Tool, they are still creative, they still make money. Take Queens of the Stone Age: Still awesome, still making money. Josh has a side-project with Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones; they are creative, they make a shitton of money. Don't get the argument here.

  41. s.... ....

I completely disagree that Incubus makes music to "just make money." These guys have a charity organization called the "Make Yourself Foundation" in which they siphon money from shows and album sales to support. I don't think their music even now sounds like pop. I like the new stuff and it still sounds like good rock n roll to me. You just have to realize they're not going to make the same damn album over and over again.

  42. M.... ....

@Chuck Norris I like everything I've heard, but if not now, when is one of my favorite albums, not just from incubus. I don't think they got cheesy, plus, at least they do new things. Everyone hates on crappy bands like nickelback for doing the same thing over and over, they'd do the same to incubus if they didn't changed it up at all

  43. D.... ....

It's like he turns into Mike Patton @ 0:52

  44. B.... D....

always bumping old school incubus and rhcp while driving

  45. V.... E....

sounds like red hot chile peppers type shit :o i love RHCP as much as i do incubus :)

  46. J.... C....

    SORRY THREE ALBUMS> :)

  47. J.... C....

Incubus has evolved. With that said I must add that they did not necessarily evolve in a good way. My favorite two albums are Fungus Amongus, SCIENCE and Make yourself. After that they got a bit cheesy. That's where I agree with redhotsuperfan. In a way I feel like Incubus let us down a bit. I own and listen to all of their albums but mostly the ones I mentioned. They're definitely not what they used to be.

  48. O.... ....

I know this is slightly off topic but ACLOTM makes my dick ROCK hard.

    ...Just saying.

  49. b.... ....

how do you know that? they became much more famous and made a lot more money once they changed their sound. how do you know THATS not what they wanted? And if thats so, (while i would like to see creative bands like incubus continue with their creativity) its not terrible that they changed because they are very talented, unlike most pop/rap stars

  50. T.... ....

I have no problem with that logic; I take issue with the idea that Incubus decided to make music with the sole goal of being likeable. Again, I could go far more in depth, if not limited by characters. However, despite songs like Drive or Wish You Were Here blowing up, the guys never went out trying to make the next Drive or next WYWH to keep themselves on top of the top 40 charts. In fact, they drastically changed their sound from what people knew and loved just because that's what they wanted.

  51. b.... ....

"likeable" in the sense that more people overall will find it appealing, thus making it more money. If you dont, then you can just make awesome music that no one knows about, like Dispatch.

  52. b.... ....

I will agree with @redhotsuperfan. It is a fact that major label music is generalized and constrained. The labels wouldnt make any money signing a creative band that only certain people may like. In music, all roads lead to pop. Same thing happened with the beatles and many more bands from that era. same thing happened with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. If you want to make millions and have your songs on the radio and be well known, you change your style of music to something more "likeable"

  53. J.... K....

I love that funky bass line! I'm going to see them later this month

  54. L.... M....

    Incubus, Outcubus.... O.o

  55. M.... C....

No comments about that quote, man. Bryan Ferry is ONLY part of the music Industry. You should know what BIG musicians such as George Clinton, Frank Zappa, John Frusciante, Jeff Beck or Sigur Ros what they have to say about that. I don't see nothing creative on the songs of this last Incubus album... But I understand how proud U are of Incubus, RHCP were my passion before, but If I say their late album is great, I am being stupidly persistant. Think about that;)

  56. r.... l....

starting to love this album wow

  57. T.... ....

My feelings are far from hurt, sir. I will not agree with you that you can throw a blanket statement over all major label music, especially with regards to Incubus. More than almost anyone else, they made the music they wanted to, and most of it is amazingly creative. I could rattle off a sizable list of such songs. Whether those songs get exposure, and whether a band makes those good songs are two different discussions. I could go further in-depth if I weren't limited in characters on here.

  58. M.... C....

I regret top hurt your feelings but the last album of Incubus is mainly of cheesy songs, mainstream shit to catch the big public attention. You are ignorant If you think good music is advertised, except in accidental cases. If you definitely want to hear good music you must look for it, otherwise it won't come after you, which happens to bands that are part of the music INDUSTRY!

  59. T.... ....

That's an ignorant statement, especially considering Incubus' history in particular. Yes, there are some cookie-cutter bands out there that exist just to pump out Top 40 hits, but this band is absolutely not one of them.

  60. M.... C....

All I'm saying is that some bands choose to be part of the music industry, others choose to make just creative good music. You can't have both.

  61. S.... ....

I can't tell if you are praising my comment, or being sarcastic.

  62. M.... C....

You just gotta agree with that! Otherwise You are not taking the big picture about what and how is Music Industry!! But NOT you you have the will to make only GOOD music.

  63. C.... F....

Anyone know what key this is in?

  64. J.... G....

their last GREAT song was Light Grenades. Who else got a bro-ner hearing Brandon scream again?

  65. B.... ....

a Mr.Bungle smell is all over this song.

  66. A.... ....

@SkaMasta097 OH GROSS. look, i agree with you with that they have changed over the years, and sort of agree with you with shittier music, (i haven't liked their stuff since CLOTM) i could go on and on but i want to get to the point.

Don't you ever, EVER compare Incubus to Hoobastank. Hoobastank was NEVER good and all of their songs have the exact same structure and progression.

At least Incubus had a good amount of creativity at some point.

  67. R.... ....

This reminds me of Mr. Bungle.

  68. m.... ....

Am I the only one that that thinks this sounds a ton like Korn in the pre-chorus?

  69. K.... ....

@Thrillerboy Just because there is worse music, doesn't make it good by comparison. By those parameters, every single band existent is good. But yes, they WERE good. (New album's not great, but still better than their last ones)

  70. K.... T....

@SkaMasta097 sorry nothing they put out is shitty.. I think you forget that people themselves change.. their personal style in what they want to play changes.. i personally have stuck with them throughout the years, being a supportive friend. The music they create is NOT easy to play and their lyrics aren't cookie cutter even if you think their beats are.

  71. B.... H....

@l2i2k2i2i2n2p2a2r2k2 Justin Bieber is a puppet, I don't credit him with bringing anything to the table but a puny girl voice

  72. C.... ....

    red hot chili peppers?

  73. h.... ....

This album's funk is so unbelievably sexy. you have no idea

  74. T.... ....

    @SkaMasta097

Still waiting on the day Incubus makes shitty music. Their latest album was underwhelming as a whole, but it has some good tracks on it, plus there are so many more bands out there making far, FAR, worse music.

  75. S.... ....

Be funky in early days. Change your style. Become multi-platinum Alternative Rock band. Become poppy. Make shitty music afterwards. When anyone shows their distaste, silence them by telling them they need to get with the times and that bands can't make the same record over and over. Incubus/Hoobastank.

  76. C.... ....

oh my word. heard this for the first time today. holy shit i wish incubus would go back to their roots

  77. D.... W....

@GGjesusAllin lmao that was good one

  78. d.... ....

CANT FUCKING WAIT TO SEE THEM TONIGHT!

  79. G.... ....

WTF INCUBUS!!!! WHY DID YOU TURN INTO N' CUBUS.

  80. P.... ....

...and then they became a nu metal/butt rock band for teenage girls.

  81. T.... o....

    RHCP obvious early Incubus influence!

  82. T.... ....

    @maryganjatoke311

If you truly believe that they make music based on anything beside what they feel like making, you are either an idiot, naive, or probably both.

  83. T.... ....

    @nuggets2go
Nope, the only song from this album with a video was "Take Me To Your Leader", and that was done with the Enjoy Incubus version of the song.

  84. n.... k....

    @checkplusman
their first bassist left. new incubus sucks !!

  85. N.... J....

this song make me high, man.

  86. s.... ....

    The Fungus Amung Us!

  87. T.... S....

@TheRubyrawr Yes, I'll confirm you on that. The One Hot Minute periode, indeed.

  88. R.... L....

Reminds me of red hot chilli peppers

  89. s.... m....

Incubus , Mr Bungle, Faith No More fueron bandas cuyo sonido experimental tuvo gran influencia en la musica

  90. S.... ....

@72KLEW No, it's marmaduke. Let's get this marmaduke naked.

  91. J.... P....

Kind of reminds me of something Red Hot Chili Peppers might do. But since we are on the topic of this song, I like Incubus. :)

  92. n.... ....

    3 people aren't hot dancers.

  93. n.... ....

Was there a music video to this? My imagination is running wild......I hope there is!

  94. C.... ....

    @edenbass me to!!!!

  95. n.... ....

NA NA NA NA NA, I'M A HOT DANCER!

  96. T.... ....

i like this incubus! not the one you see on mtv!

  97. J.... C....

    2 people have never dropped...

  98. M.... L....

@brandonchasseur2205 take out the word surf, and I couldnt agree with this comment more

  99. L.... L....

    fuck yeah funky!!!!!!!!!!!
