In Flames - Dead Eyes Lyrics

i heard the first In Flames song a few months ago, and since then i just love their music. One of the best metal bands i ever heard, their sound is just massive, but also smooth. Great band!

Please check out the old stuff! I'm not necessarily saying you NEED to, but too many people who discover the band nowadays don't know their glorious past. They helped define a genre back in the day.

Overcoming depression

So far this song and With Eyes Wide Open are the only TOLERABLE songs on this album. They should have just continued in the same direction they were heading with Come Clarity, A Sense of Purpose, and Sounds of a Playground fading because they were starting to make good music again. Not like those shit show albums Reroute and Soundtrack. Once I get to the end of this album I might have to flush my ears with some Whoracle, Colony, and Clayman... the holy trinity of In Flames albums lol.

Seriously, though.. this album sucks.

SpaceCake So because I don't care for a song or an album means I'm not a loyal fan. You're right that I didn't work to make it (I'm assuming you mean that I wasn't involved in making the album) but that still doesn't negate the fact that I'm entitled to my.opinion just like everyone else is.

Anyone who has been a listener since the early days of In Flames would easily agree with me that their newer stuff is quite different from their older stuff. Now some people like it, and I do like a lot of their newer stuff, I just don't care for their last album and I'm not too fond of this song. I do however think that this album could be quite a bit better than their last album.

Soundtrack To Your Escape, however, is a terrible album. So is Reroute.

J Robes You're quick to judge an album by the sound and not the work put into it. I don't hear you playing an instrument to their music so let them play how they want. It's obviously different, yes. Anyone with ears would agree.

I'll respect your view though.

SpaceCake I never criticized them for not playing to my tastes I just said I didn't really enjoy it but as far as being too quick to judge an album.. I don't see how you got that from what I said? I am simply judging this song and said that if the album is like this song then I'm hopeful that it would be good because, although I do hear a lot of their last album in this song, I do hear a lot of the old In Flames in it as well.

Also while I'm not in In Flames, I was in a metal band that was in the process of turning pro before we broke up. We were located in NJ around 2004 and had just got out of high-school. It was before the big wave of metal bands hit, a long time before, now they are a dime a dozen. We would have been on the forefront of what is now the standard for metal.

I'd gladly send you some unmastered tracks we did with out 2nd vocalist. Unfortunately I don't know where my mixed and mastered Master copy with our original vocalist is. So I do know what it takes to put songs and an album together and to play live. I've been in several bands but none as successful as that one.. I play guitar and some drums and when my voice was in shape could scream as well but my vocal chords aren't strong enough for that anymore.

I always played guitar in the bands I was in. In Flames will always have a soft spot in my heart because they were the band that got me into metal with screaming vocals.

I can agree that Reroute was a drastic change in their sound, but Soundtrack has a lot of hidden beauty. I used to dislike that album, but hearing Borders and Shading, Evil in a Closet live on their Sticky Fingers performance changed my opinion on that album.

Listening it on 1.25 speed helps for me :D
