Please dont tell anyone i still love this album so fucking much, lol.... i would never hear the end of it. It is a fucking masterpiece. I first heard this album in highschool (2009) when I was going to Games Workshop LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE DAY for a few years, just painting Warhammer/40K models and playing games with anybody who wasnt put-off/weirded out by my cargo pantes, black Alienware™ 👽 logo hat, fanny pack, suspenders and massive braces. There were only 4 employees, all manchild nerdy white guys in their 30's (manager in his 40's.) They only played a few albums, and spending every waking minute I wasnt in school wiyhin the mall's hours in that store, I became VERY well acquainted with their music tastes. This was a main one I heard at least 2-3 times a day, and everything else was just individual songs from scattered artists (Black Sabbath, Manowar, and Led Zeppelin just to name a few). Through this album, I ended up getting heavily interested in the Civil War history and other war history, not on a political level but purely because I like learning new things and this was interesting to me. I went to an experimental education K-12 school from 8th grade to 12th grade when i graduated. Our classes often offered extended and in-depth trips at the end of the semester, and it was expected that each student pick at least one class involving a trip per semester. Well, in 10th grade (2010) I had the incredible opportunity to take a Civil War History class, and the trip we went on for it was a 2-week, mostly camping but occasionally we stayed in hostels, trip to every major battlefield in the Civil War. The icing on the cake and the cherry on top? On the first day of class, each student had to pick ONE battlefield to do a report on. Basically we had to type a paper up that would be able to completely explain what happened during that battle to someone who had never heard anything about it before. Then, while on our trip at the END of the semester, while all of us were literally STANDING ON THE GROUND of whichever battlefield each person did their report on, they then read what they had written to us about that battle, while all of us stood on that exact battlefield. Also, we would often have park servive employees dressed up all in full Civil War soldier uniform come in-character and talk to us and give us some cool extra history as well. I kind of cheated and picked Gettysburg, because that was a 3-day battle and is almost always represented as 3 different battles, so I got to do 2 extra projects (and in my opinion that was the most interesting battle(s) in the Civil War.) I am extremely grateful that I was given such a unique opportunity for education and experience based learning, and honestly I'm not certain my curiosity would have been caught had it not been for this album. So I am also grateful for those nerdy Games Workshop employees and this nerdy power metal album. (FYI I dont have an opinion on the politics of the Civil War, as I believe I am undereducated and not qualified to formulate an opinion on such a thing.)

this is my favorite iced earth album. ripper fucking kills it. i get it. i get it. something wicked is amazing. the dark saga is wonderful. burnt offerings pulls no punches. this album is the one i hang my hat on when people ask me about iced earth.

I just recently discovered this album. I've not heard such a refreshing music in a long time. This is very solid album, but I think the best songs are from the beginning and the end of the album. A true masterpiece!

This song immediately increases the bald eagle population within a 5-mile radius of wherever it is played by 200%.  Because, as everybody knows, bald eagles carry the essence of Freedom on their majestic wings.

The true war in America has never been about race, but about money. Not to say racism didn't exist, it did and it is an evil I will always condemn, but wealth has always been the dividing factor in American history and it always will be.
