Hundredth - Hurt Lyrics
I hurt myself today to see if I still feel.
I focus on the pain, the only thing that’s real.
The needle tears a hole, the old familiar sting.
Try to kill it all away, but I remember everything.
Everyone I know goes away in the end.
And you could have it all. My empire of dirt.
I will let you down. I will make you hurt.
I wear this crown of thorns upon my liar’s chair.
Full of broken thoughts that I cannot repair.
Beneath the stains of time the feelings disappear.
You are someone else. I am still right here.
What have I become my sweetest friend?
And you could have it all. My empire of dirt.
I will let you down. I will make you hurt.
If I could start again, a million miles away,
I would keep myself. I would find a way.
I will let you down. I will make you hurt.
I will let you down. I will make you... I will make you hurt.

Hundredth Hurt Comments
I heard that the Nine Inch Nails liked Johnny Cash's cover so much that they gave him the song
Fuck yeah luv it
2020. <3
Fuck it johnny love your version but these guy keep it going
Not just an excellent cover but brilliant camera work .. black and white, in and out focus .. wonderful work which adds to the rawness of the track itself. Top stuff!
You suck. You sound like you're puking. I'm tired of that shit with metal. Just sing, god dammit. SING! Don't barf.
Best fucking cover ever !!!!!!
*Hundredth screamo voice *
Dude wtf is up with all these annoying advertisements???! You guys really need money or what?
Add less screaming
You should beat yourself to death for ruining this song like this. You couldn't cover it worse than this 😒
Mmh i dont know about that. Would have liked it more uf you started slowly, and went nuts and screaming in the 2nd half of the song
Pulling into 2019 like
Nice🙂
I really don't understand how this doesn't have more views.
....there are just certain songs that should be left alone . and this is the epitome of that
Ugh. My eaaaaaars!
Grande filho da puta, não sabem fazer música e destroem uma obra ...covardes e incompetentes
You forgot to credit Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, or Johnny Cash. That's *not* okay.
EWW wtf is this fucking crap ass garbage i didnt expect it to be one of those fucking screamo music type shit
Best song ever!
This is how you let out Emotion.
4:00 Oh my gosh, those harmonies! Gorgeous!
I can't believe this is the first version I've found with harsh vocals. I wish I could find one with clean vocals and acoustic guitar until like the last chorus. That dynamic shift with blow me away!
Not bad.
https://youtu.be/6C0uCVC0mD4
the NIN and Cash versions are among my favourite songs ever. I come from punk and hardcore, and this is amazing. the little extra chorus at the end was AMAZING. totally made it their own.
It was unique to say the absolute least. Fantastic reimagining, the broken glassy sounds are neat too
Hundredths new sound still flows well but God damn do I miss chads raw power in his screams
this version of the song makes me cry so hard
Dude can't scream
what the fuck i just saw?? this shit is bad bro
i think spoken word wouldve been more appropriate in the beginning, I love hardcore music and black metal and death metal and goregrind but I don't think the vocal performance did the song justice, needs more emotion
Fuck this stupid screamo cover, it’s just awful
terrible...
3:58 🖤
La adaptación de la musica es hermosa si la cantase chad grey
I love metal/hardcore/post hardcore bands. But... They needed to have clean vocals supplemented by screams, if it's only screams it just doesn't work.
And no. The very end doesn't count, sorry.
Trust me. if it's fully screaming it does work.
Listen to Killing The Dream, Life Long Tragedy, The Carrier, More Than Life's album "Love Let Me Go". It's all pure raw and catarthic emotion that matches with the melancholic, nostalgic, melodic yet hard hitting riffs.
This song is beautiful! The lyrics are so deep and they resonate with me! This is by far my favorite rendition of this song! The passion can be felt deeply! Great job! This song is humbling. You can have my empire of dirt! Praise to Jesus, the King of kings!
This band sounds so good and the vocals are good but just for this song it isn't so great. Nine inch nails made it and it sounded pretty good. Johnny Cash covered it and it sounded amazing it. Hundredth covered it and it just doesn't fit well in my opinion
cool power :) amazing
Would be nicer if it was a mix of like a soothing voice that progesses into a metal cover.
bruh this version sucks ass
This is ridiculously tacky.
great ,love the intro
after hearing their new trash I had to come back and remember hundredth. rip to the good shit.
JESSE NORDBY I miss the old hundredth before the pop sound they changed into
Bring back the desolate days of hundredth
How does this have more likes than views?
proud to be a NIИ fan, and a hundredth too. saw nin back in 2008, and shit i'm from Ukraine and fuck, it seems that i will never see both bands in my country;(
Lot of haters here. Do people not understand that they are a hardcore band? They barely sing in their songs.
This is a great cover and the screaming adds a lot of emotion to it, especially towards the end.
I personally don't like this.
I heard the NIN version
I heard the Cash version
And it took me a long time too realize this is the same song now i feel stupid
for christ sake.... this does not make for a good hardcore song
epic cover but still like Johnny cash's cover better tho
completely un-listenable. sorry. you guys might be a good band but this one was a fail :(
I absolutely hate this.
Why is he screaming like that I can't
fantastic
Just recently found this and this is one of the best covers ever
I've grown up listening to Johnny Cash thanks to my dad, and I can safely say that this is a great cover.
Vanir Just mentioning that Hurt was written by Nine Inch Nails, not by Johnny Cash
You're right, but this is still a great cover. :P
YOU'RE SHITTING OUT OF YOUR ASS!
it actually wasnt written by nine inch nails
Yes it actually was. Look it up. Composed by t rezner.
I really like the instruments and this could be done with that voice, but you need more from the instruments for that.
i think this is the best cover
This might not be everybody's cup of tea but I think that Hundredth pulled it off magnificently. Can't wait to see you guys in Dundee!
the vocals add so much more darkness and pain to the track... unreal cover
Luke Alsford Can’t agree more! This cover just completes the song for me
Seconded, one of the best "build up" covers I've heard, the speed of the backing instruments just makes this for me. The anger and pain of the vocals add more than any other cover I've heard.
ruined a classic
Tetsuoni Toramaru how did they ruin a classic? Nine inch nails is trash.
don't care what others say this cover is great
shameful
I'm sure there's meant to state that it's a cover and ownership of the song belongs to the original artist
Wow. When I saw how many thumbs up this video had I thought: "Ok cool, this could be a decent cover!"
...NOPE! Wow. I never even imagined it could be that shitty!
"Screaming isn't music"
Proper screaming is an entire vocal technique that actually takes quite a bit of skill to pull off. Although, someone narrow minded wouldn't understand that
KingOfLegends23 Screaming takes talent of course, but it just doesn't fit this song at all.
@Unexpected Bulge Never said it did
Greensky02 different opinions. I like this version much better. Just because it's not your style of music, doesn't mean it's bad. Not in the slightest, this is actually really well done.
I mean it's pretty easy, considering there are thousands of metalcore, deathcore, and screamo bands. I'm not a "music prude", but for fuck's sake, there's so many that all sound the exact same, I can't tell them apart, much like country artists. I don't know, music in general sucks. I hate it all
logan 2017
greatest song
Heard this on spotify and had to come here to tell you stop raping my ears with this fucking garbage cover. This was pure shit and i need u to know. have a blessed day // my ears wont be the same ever again..
lol neat
if you don't understand an art form don't knock it dingus
I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THE FORM!!!!!!!!!!! RAAAAAARGH!!!!
And it is indeed shit!
Greensky02 your opinion is invalid pal, fek off back to your hole
I heard this and Break Free and now I really feel like I need to see Hundredth in concert.
Scott Killswitch dude they are kick ass
saw them a month ago they fucking killed it
Johnny cash!
What type of music is this?
Melodic hardcore
People forget Cash's version is a cover of the Nine Inch Nails original. He made it his own, just as these guys have. No need to hate for spinning it in a new direction people.
Ryan O'Reilly I believe when Trent hurt Cash cover it he actually said "it's not my song anymore"
OX Personal Training this Is true he did say that.
Joran De Roover Strongly disagree, especially with how you put your personal opinion as an objective fact. It's just a matter of taste and personal preference, nothing more.
OX Personal Training a binding verbal conract, so its setteled
he did not

Short for Dana Linn Bailey. She's this gross roided out female bodybuilder. Don't google her unless you want to throw up in your mouth.
+Kamikaze Gorilla do you just explore the Internet looking for opportunities to be edgy for attention because you're depressed and lonely in the real world?
nah hes right shes icky
FoxMark They clearly don’t lift.
So is this a cover of a cover?
it's just a cover of the original song, multiple people can do covers. yes it sounds more like cash but it's still a NIN cover
IT"S FUCKING AMAZING! HAIL FROM RUSSIA!
Привет
No disrespect to this band or NIN, the original. This is now a Johnny Cash song. Emotion??? Listen to a man at the end of his life sing it. The man in black owns this song. My opinion.
I can respect your opinion... But Trent Reznor (NIN) wrote this when he was in the darkest spot of his life... Without the depressing emotion of the original, Johnny Cash wouldn't have a cover of his own. So to say that he "owns" the song is a bunch of bullshit because it's based directly off of Trent Reznor's own experiences. Lol
Johnny Cash just made a cover of it and made it fit his own emotional state.
Besides, the way Trent sings "Hurt" is depressing as hell.
#freeRick
did he have to scream through the whole thing?
It's hardcore, so yes.
@Neverbloom bad move
I kept wanting to skip it just to listen to other hundredth songs but I couldn't! The melody is just so good on this song.
Your profile pic makes me sad 😢 I miss HIH
need more song like this
84k views? this song deserve more views and likes !!!!
Why haven't Hopeless given credit to NIN or Cash?..the song is alright but it's still a cover they shouldn't say that it's 'Hundredth's song? Have they actually bought it? Just seems all so casual.
+Jim Woodley Honestly i would be surprised if anyone didn't know this was a NIN cover, or that Johnny Cash covered it before hand. That being said it's always good to give credit where credit is due.
+Jim Woodley yea they prob just assumed everyone would know lol
Kinda a obvious thing now lol
I really enjoy this cover dudes. A really cool take on the song. Seems like all these hater trolls don't even understand hardcore music. Keep rockin.
What are you referring to that is "hardcore"? This is American hardcore music without a doubt.
It's not that we don't understand hardcore music I think It's just that it doesn't fit this song. I don't mind unclean vocals but personally I think this song is better with cleans. I only stayed for the guitar work towards the last chorus. NINs version is still the best instrumental wise
Welp that's what you think
@Joe Harman This is not what we think. This is a fact! Put growls in a music made to be clean, sad, and slowly melodic just rape the fuck up! You can't scream in Bocceli's Opera, because the song was made in other space, other vibe. Otherwise the shit will blow in your ears like this song...
so everyone keep it together: FIRST OF ALL, just stop arguing over fucking labels ffs. Secondly, this is 100% Melodic Hardcore. At its best. End of the story.
The gangster, the killer and the dope dealer! :)
And mac be the D boy looking hotter than a LA summer :)
16 seconds in and I already see that they butchered this song. Screaming doesn't equal emotion, nor does it equal 'hardcore' metal. It's not even 'good' screaming, it sounds just... bad. This is my favorite song of all time, and I love every version and evsry cover I've heard of this until now, but this, this is NOT Hurt. This is honestly one of the biggest misfires of a cover I have seen. I'm sorry if you disagree, and I mean no disrespect to the people who made this, but I just can't see anything remotely good about this cover.
PS: I personally find it kind of a dick move on this band's part (or at least whoever uploaded this video) for calling this "Hundredth's song Hurt". Almost every other cover I have seen has at least had the respect to acknowledge it was a COVER, not an original song. These guys provide no disclaimer whatsoever that this isn't their song, which I think is disrespectful, whether it's intentional or not.
+Andrew Dinse gtfo
I regret ever visiting this god awful cover of a legendary song.
Lol go away then, leave us to enjoy it. BAIIIIII
Way ahead of ya bud lmao
The intent of the original song was to make the listener uncomfortable; to make them hurt. It’s the song’s intended nature. It only makes sense to cover it en Screamo— it’s to make it sound very stressful.
This is always my must go deep song for gym
brofist
What kind of gym do you go to?!? After a workout like that, it's going to be hard to sit down for a while.
SAME!!!!!!! I always sprint on 10 to it and I probably look so pissed while doing it 😂😂😂
Out of the cash, nin, and this version... This one has the most emotion in it.
Nigga you are mentally retarded.
Stevie Salazar i think the same but not for the scream. I think the hole style of the chorus with that kick so strong gives more emotions
no one can beat cash. period
Hahahahahaha no
Jessie Partin nobody tried
you've done this song a disservice.
Killer cover!
Awww, I need more this music ^^
You ruined this song, this is terrible
Sorry but no. Johnny Cash owns this song pretty much. This was just terrible IMO. You can't just scream this song, it takes away the deep meaning and emotion to it.
Lol actually Johnny Cash covered it too. It was originally by Nine Inch Nails.
Gotta know your shit homie.
+Jake Andrew I know my shit homie, go watch the interview with the lead singer of nine inch nails. Even he says that Johnny practically made it his song because of how powerful it was. I know it's not literally his song but 90% of people don't even know nine inch nails originally wrote it because of how much better Johnny's cover was.
+Atexyy Screaming can be associated with strong emotions, it's just a different way of conveying them than when you're singing. So you may feel that screaming carries no emotion, but to many of us it does ;) just wanted to point that out :)
+TheWhiteWalters ggm8 I get that but the singer screaming doesn't change his tone or anything to show any change in emotion. In NIN and Cash's version you could hear the pain and suffering progress through the song in their voice. Now if they had a vocalist singing along with the screams it would've been 1000x better IMO.
@Atexyy That's great, and i respect your opinion, i'm just pointing out that how we receive emotion and all that stuff, even what is "noise" and what is music is by linguistic definiton defined by the individual, because of how we perceive or receive signals and so forth differently, so some may actually get more feels from screaming than singing. It's great that you like the Cash version and the NIN version, but i for example have a more emotional connection to this than to either of the other ones, it's not really something to discuss, it's just how it is :) Sorry if i'm being vague, i'm not out to diss your opinion or anything
I want to say YAAASSSS but I also want to sat NNUUUUUUU
