Years ago I saw her fist album being promoted on Grooveshark, I listened to it and I instantly fell in love with it. And this song... wow! Everytime I listen to one of their songs I feel this powerful feeling of fulfillment of the pleasure of hearing a masterpiece. Love all their material, hope they release another album soon.

It took me a while to understand and like Hundred Waters. I used to think Hundred Waters was soo weird the first time I listened to them, it wasn't until I had listened to their music some times over to gain the appreciation I have for them now. I've listened to this song 3 times already but it wasn't until the 4th time through that I released crazy amounts of dopamine and witnessed magnificent chills down my spine. I had to achieve a sort of relationship with the music and fully get to understand its sound before it could drive myself happy. Some sounds and wavelengths you don't notice until you listen to a song in a different perspective. I'm so glad I first listened to Hundred Waters with a clear mind, this is a sound that was a hidden treasure. It was right in front of me the whole time, I just hadn't realized it.

I wrote this in 2015 when I first heard this on my local radio station. They are from my town so everyone was promoting them at the time. I was also too into history and was having to research and write documents on these wars for class. I was probably drawing parallels that may not all be there but this is what I've got from it:

"To me, this song represents the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Asian influenced beat and sampling only adds to my belief. “Look out Alee..I thought I saw lightning..” At the explosion of nuclear bombs lightning discharges sometimes occur. “What a haze.” These lines seem self explanatory but the haze part could be referring to the mushroom cloud and the smoke that spread outward. The song even goes on to talk about a war (maybe WWII), “when there’s a war, there is a war, There is a warning.” The “why am I hiding line” could be a victim confused about what just happened, since no one really knew about atomic bombs and this was a new weapon dropped unexpectedly. Victims of an atomic bomb, if you were lucky (lucky in this situation) and far enough away from ground zero, you were burned by the rays and flames from the blast, instead of an instant death. So the line “get it off me” could be the stinging pain of Thermal burns from infrared heat radiation or from beta burns and such, many people were experiencing symptoms during this time that felt like bee stings or hot coals on their skin. “Or fall out” could mean two things to me, like to die or the radioactive particles stirred up by or resulting from a nuclear explosion and descending through the atmosphere. The death part would make sense in the context but fallout in a sense of the aftermath of a nuclear explosion makes sense also. “Are we in the middle of providence”, or, are we in the protective care of God or of nature. “But where did it come from? It’s not supposed to happen..” again, people really didn’t know what an atomic bomb was, or that one was going to fall.”O lord.. No sign.. No way out” this gives me chills because you cannot escape an atomic bomb, especially when it was so unexpected. These people had nowhere to go.
Also, Alee means on the side of a ship that is sheltered from the wind (wind from a firestorm?)" As in someone hiding or a name.. I learned this from reading an interview from the band. She's very vague on the message only stating what "Alee" meant and this could be implied to mean all kinds of things. I guess that's the beauty is that you make it what you want.

They are looking at a pacific map in the video if anyone else can tell what portion they are looking at that would be a good clue. It could even mean a boat crash, pacific war, a tsunami.

It's what I imagine

These folks are so unique and original. And not only is her voice unique but her style of singing is all her own too. Something about the character of their music, much in the same vein of Bjork's, just makes life more appreciable.

Her voice isn't unique per say, but the way she uses it to blend in with the music is exquisite and original. Her voice isn't unique but her talent is stupendous and sets her apart from the rest.

Yeah all that, but I'm still gonna go with the timbre of her voice is pretty unique.
