Humble Pie - We Can Work It Out Lyrics
Try to see it my way
Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on?
While you see it your way
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone
We can work it out, we can work it out.
Think of what you're saying
You can get it wrong and still you think that it's alright
Think of what I'm saying
We can work it out and get it straight or say goodnight
We can work it out, we can work it out.
Life is very short and there's no time
For fussing and fighting my friend
I have always thought that it's a crime
So I will ask you once again.
Try to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
There's a chance that we may fall apart before too long
We can work it out, we can work it out.
Life is very short and there's no time
For fussing and fighting my friend
I have always thought that it's a crime
So I will ask you once again.
Try to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
There's a chance that we may fall apart before too long
We can work it out, we can work it out.

Chills! Freaking chills! Motherfreakin chills! Rip Steve, it's our loss!
He sounds a little like Aretha Franklin on this song. That's a compliment.
I requested this for Terri Hemmert's Breakfast With the Beatles show on WXRT in Chicago and after a backlog of three months or so she finally played it. The album this cover was pulled from (Street Rats) has several equally brilliant and unique Beatles covers on it--Drive My Car and Rain being particular standouts.
Thanks a lot?..Never heard this one but i like it ? ..i'm to busy trying to get a job Driving up Daisy?
Wow. Fantastic cover version.
Best cover of this classic
Check out Stevie Wonder’s.
que hijo de puta!!!! increible!!!
WOW
Wonderful cover of a great tune by a fantastic group.
Totally agree with checkypig.
If you read Keith RIchard's autobiography,Keith says that some famous songwriter ( can't remember who ) said that Keith was a great songwriter, which i find very hard to believe.
From a 71yo Aussie fan.
Steve was a master arranger
So very soulful Steve had a amazing feel for this style... R.I.P.
i gotta read that book-
and i LOVE that Chili Peppers version of Sub.Homesick Blues, but the Pie does several Beatles covers-Rain and Drive my car are particularly cool-and utterly different than the originals.fantastic.
It probably was Ron Wood since Keith Richards wanted Steve in the Stones but Jagger vetoed his choice (probably too much competition.) Ron Wood & Rod Stewart joined the remaining Small Faces when he left & they were renamed as just the Faces. It took 2 people to 'replace' Steve, something no one really could do. He was great in both the Small Faces & in Humble Pie, just different sounds to each. Actually, his solo work is wonderful also; that's how versatile he was. There will never be another.
Who cares what Keith Richards says? He couldn't hold a candle to Steve M or Steve W.
@photoeng1 in regaurds to beatle remakes comment, check out deep purple w/ rod evans singing help you might like it.
I remember reading an interview with either Ron Wood or Keith Richards, and they were discussing Steve and whichever one it was says "I never liked him in Humble Pie", saying Small Faces were better, and Steve was better with them. I've always thought that was an interesting comment. It was probably Keith, 'cause Keith says Winwood was best in the Spencer Davis Group. I find it very interesting that Keith can't appreciate Traffic
after reading "all so beautiful" a book on steve's life, it mentioned this cover. I thought I will have to listen to it and i am so glad i did. this is the most changed cover i have heard since the chili peppers done dylans homesick subteranial homesick blues.
this is magnificant! thanks for sharing this.
Bought the album when it came out. Very few remakes of Beatles songs interest me.This is one.
There's Steve and then there's the rest. I keep hoping one day his talent will be more widely appreciated.
i dont understand how i didnt discover this band sooner!
