Humble Pie - Rain Lyrics

When the rain comes
They run and hide their heads
They might as well be dead
When the rain comes, yeah
When the rain comes

When the sun shines
They run into the shade (slip into the shade)
And sip their lemonade (sip their lemonade)
When the sun shines
When the sun shines

Rain, I don't mind
Shine, the weather is fine

Rain, I don't mind
Shine, the weather is fine

I can show you
That when it starts to rain (when it starts to rain)
Everything's looks the same (everything's the same)
I can show you
I can show you
Let me show you
Let me show you

Rain, I don't mind
Shine, the weather is fine

If the rain comes, they run and hide their heads
They might as well be dead
If the rain comes, if the rain comes.

When the sun shines, they slip into the shade
    And sip their lemonade
When the sun shines, when the sun shines.

    Rain, I don't mind
    Shine, the weather's fine.

I can show you that when it starts to rain
    Everything's the same
I can show you, I can show you.

    Rain, I don't mind
    Shine, the weather's fine.

Can you hear me that when it rains and shines
It's just a state of mind?
Can you hear me? Can you hear me?

Every period of music has never been perfect. Humans are not perfect. God Is! But the period of music and variety of music that was closest to being perfect in human history was 1954 to 1974 in my personal opinion

Bill Bass, i always picked '65-'75. creme' de la creme'

    B.... C....

Bill Presley--let's push it up to 1978

Not that i hated everything in the latter part of the 70's by 1975 to 1979 there was still a lot of good music being recorded out but there has also been a lot of music recorded that sounded too boring and passive since the mid 1970's even to today.

    Like the Beatles version better.

+dustyrusty musty ....i like the Beatles original better too. i think they were trying to redo it in a more mid 1970's rock sounding cover. At this time Marriott and the Members wanted a break from the Band recordings demand from the record Company. By this period Humble Pie was angry and tired of recording for the record company from what i read in a biography. So out of frustration and rebellion they deliberately tried to be crappy when recording this album in the studio.

Just great. i was recently retching after seeing a clip from the Grammeys with Justin Bieber. This has helped a lot. What year was this done?

Thanks for this-my fave BEATLES song, and even better by the Humble Pie w/the Blackberries. PS-this is from "STREET RATS" album. Greg and Steve got this babe covered! Remember how Disco and Punk rock were trying to kill Supergroups like the Pie and LED ZEP? Don't be fooled by ignorant haters and smart-ass critics who dogged this album when it came out. Sure it was the truly last lp due for A&M Records. However, Steve sang most lead on previous THUNDERBOX lp. So, Greg Ridley sang most lead on this follow up. Got my husband the Drumming 70s book by Jerry Shirley and he absolutely loved it. Clem Clemson''s (ex-Collosseum), lead guitar gives chill bumps to this very day. RIP-Steve and Greg.We sure miss you. Back when music actually had talent: no Auto-tune.

thanks for a great comment....i love Gregs singing....he had a very different voice, but just as soulful as Steve, and Clem is my favorite ...

@theseeker23 what about the majik mijits???

  13. a.... ....

@aadoyle7when he said to steve that he had done nothing good since leaving the small faces and steve got very upset about that because he rated humble pie much higher than ronnies band slim chance. they reformed later tho. didnt speak for about 5 years, then they formed the majik mijits. check them out!

  14. a.... ....

@sydskyds they did make up, the small faces reunited but lane left after marriott punched him, lane was just starting to get ill and was tripping up and falling over all of the time, marriott thought he was drunk and not taking the comeback seriously, the band confronted lane in the studio-lane didnt tell them about his illness and just a big argument
