Humble Pie - C'mon Everybody Lyrics

Well c'mon everybody, let's get together tonight
Got a pocket full of money and I'm gonna spend it right
I've been doin' my homework all week long
Now my house is empty, my folks are gone
C'mon everybody.

Well took my eyes from the wall 'cause I'm gonna dance with three or four
Till you can't hear the music for the bare feet slappin' on the floor
Oh when you hear the music and you can't sit still
And your brother won't rock, then your sister will
C'mon everybody.

Get up, put it out.

Oh c'mon everybody, let's get together tonight
Got a pocket full of money, oh I'm gonna spend it right
I've been doin' my homework all week long
Now my house is empty, my folks are gone
C'mon everybody
C'mon everybody.

    Get it!!

    H.... B....

ofc :) u the guy who likes Mitch Ryder?

  52. m.... r....

this is an eddie cochran (summertime blues) song. he was kind of a blonde haired elvis rocker.

    m.... r....

He also wrote Jeannie, Jeannie, Jeannie- Nervous Breakdown- Somethin' Else, Rock and Roll Classics that have stood the test of time. All before he turned 21 years old. Elvis was the King but he wrote zero songs.

    m.... r....

As a matter of fact check Brian Setzer's cover of Nervous Breakdown from Live Nude Guitars. It sizzles.

  53. B.... C....

10 thumbs down.....stupid jerk offs smh

    B.... C....

do you even have a clue what youre talking about?

    B.... C....

You, my friend are a card-carrying cretin. C R E T I N--in case you don't know that means you are an IDIOT!!!

    B.... C....

Those 10 people wouldn't know good music if it slapped them across the head. Must be fans of that new crap out there that they call music now.

  54. A.... B....

I am listening and reflecting on the state of rock'n'roll today; what in the hell happened? These bands could never be replaced, ever...

    A.... B....

Check Ty Segall's new record Freedom's Goblin. I listened to Smokin" five times a day every single day Fall of '72 as a Freshman in High School. Still love it but there's some really good shit out there.

  55. V.... S....

those who major in rock music should learn from them. . pie kix ass.

  56. o.... ....

This song rocks. I freakin' love it!

  57. D.... R....

This is the band that AC/DC and everyone else in the world wanted to sound like. Saw them at the Whiskey; Changed my life. There has never been anybody like Steve! R.I.P. my brother.

    D.... R....

saw Humble Pie back in the late 60's/early 70's @ a theater in Passiac NJ.

    D.... R....

Bon Scott was around probably before Humble Pie,lol, he was definitely around in bands screaming long before AC/DC.... His earliest recordings were from the mid 60s, AC/DC is a bad comparison but there were plenty of other bands chasing this sound.

    D.... R....

@Abso lutely Well yes considering Bon wasn't AC/DC's original singer.

  58. s.... s....

    MOAR COWBELL, DAMMIT!

  59. x.... ....

How could anyone dislike this song? One of the greatest rock songs ever

    x.... ....

They're all probably Justin Bieber fans...their ears don't deserve to listen to good music anyway.

    x.... ....

xltoday horrible taste I guess what the fuck?????

    x.... ....

This was recorded one month before Little Queenie so, no, he definitely didn't "steal" it. didn't need to, he was a freakin' musical genius.

    x.... ....

Perhaps if u belong to the anti Eddie Cochran Congregation...then,I can see it!

  60. W.... 6....

Jerry Shirley used to be the disc jockey on WNCX 98.5 classic rock Cleveland

    W.... 6....

    Got stoned with him

    W.... 6....

so cool..I heard he the best voice in rock history, but would never play the game with the music executives!

  61. c.... ....

Sounds like Noddy Holder and Slade.

  62. l.... ....

44 years later and STILL SMOKIN !

    l.... ....

46 years ago this month...and STILL SMOKIN'

    l.... ....

Smokin' and burning 🔥, was lucky I got to see them in 1974 or 75, Marriott what a showman and singer
He spat allover the floorboards of the Manchester Free Trade Hall, must have been the bad beer and good women

  63. D.... ....

Someone below asked about the sound at 3:36..its a guitar feeding back into the amp..surely done on purpose..sounds like its Clem as I think the wah pedal is there,,its probally an overdub as I think theres 2 other guitars playing..I saw this band 2-3 times...in 1972 I brought a cassette recorder and camera with me..I know I have the photos and could probally find the cassette..The tour was billed as the final one for the Pie..I saw them another 5-6 times ,,Steve was in all but the last one..They had a singer who looked like a young Steve...not the one on here with the blond hair,,this guy had darker hair,,he was the best one in the band ..probally late 80,s,, all day outdoor festival gig in N.Hamp,, Foghat with 1 original member and a bunch of other bands.Jerry Shirley was the only one for the pie..Thanks for posting Great band DH

  64. A.... D....

    great version!! great band!!

  65. R.... E....

I love this so much. It seems to me that this whole album is a rock-soul hybrid. I love the former and respect the latter, so I love this song and the entire "Smokin" album!

  66. S.... ....

    Steve's voice is unmistakably unique!

  67. T.... Y....

  69. k.... m....

    Love the Pie!

    k.... m....

    sure do

  70. P.... W....

All I can say about any cover that Steve Marriott was involved in is that he was extremely good at reinterpreting other's work.... Lastly the humble pie version of "we can work it out" has to be one of the most unique Beatles covers.

    P.... W....

@Paul White come on Steve Marriott doing covers is hardly why he's one of the greatest vocalist

    P.... W....

+xltoday I don't disagree with that at all. I just think his covers are extremely unique, and deserve recognition.

    P.... W....

I equally love his covers and originals.

  71. e.... ....

    Smokin' is an understatement

  72. L.... S....

    Smoke riffs.

  73. C.... S....

got to see them in Knoxville tn.    rock on PIE !!!!!!!

    C.... S....

Paul I really don't remember the year . maybe in 70s it's wonder I can remember the concert I was so high ! lol  LOVE ME SOME PIE !!

    C.... S....

@Paul White saw them 5or 6 times was at the Rokin the Fillmore cocert when they that insane version of i don't need no docter! one of my favorite bands. nobody rockin his voice like Marriot!!!!!

  74. C.... S....

The beat on this one makes you get up and pat that foot down and dirty boogie !!

  75. A.... B....

    L.... M....

  79. J.... R....

    still .... Smokin

  80. m.... ....

You can't get any heavier than this.

    m.... ....

+maplespak sure you can, Zeppelin's version

    m.... ....

Plant could never sing live the way Marriott did.. I've seen both bands 4x each Pie was always better.. Plant used to be a roadie for Marriott  btw

    m.... ....

jimiaxe its true that all singers knew that Marriott was the best but Robert Plant was one of the best in the early Zeppelin years.I saw Zeppelin twice myself and they were awesome.

  81. D.... ....

Probably the guitar, but could have been a vocal mic ringing as well. No way to know for sure without having been there.

  82. S.... ....

Not the short 1-2 second ring you hear at 3:36, but the long sustained note he holds then it seems to get higher 3:34 - 3:42 and turns into a howling sound.

  83. H.... L....

yeah Kiss changed all that. They were the 1st band to get famous based on everything but the music.

  84. D.... ....

^ Yes, a feedback ring. The effect on the guitar was probably what it was, a bit too much regeneration. But could have been a stage monitor ringing through an open vocal mic from close proximity of one of the band members moving past it.

  85. D.... ....

^ Yep and the reason was back then the bands were good enough to get the job done and man did they Git 'R Done!!!!!

  86. S.... ....

Humble Pie would have only had 4 or 5 band members on the stage. Drummer, Bassist, maybe 2 guitars and an organ player. That was it. And they would just crank out these tunes like masterpieces. It was wonderful. Winterland was an old dumpy large dark indoor theater with wooden seats along the back walls and upstairs. Downstairs, the main floor was just open space so you could walk up to the stage, which was about 6 feet above the floor and watch the band perform. It was great. Miss those days.

  87. S.... ....

I could have seen Humble Pie around 1971-72-73 at Winterland in San Francisco. Ticktets prices were cheap and affordable back then. Maybe $5. The band would get on stage and just play. There was minimal special effects. Only your standard lighting and a person who would mix colored oils and water and display them on an overhead projector. Simplicity at its finest. There was not 100 people jumping around onstage with flames and such. Just the band members. That was it Those days are gone. : - (

    S.... ....

the very first time I saw ZZ Top here in Texas that was the "special effects" oil and coloured water via and overhead projector.... it was great..... I'll never forget

  88. S.... ....

What is the sound that occurs exactly at 5:01? It sounds like he was hitting a high note, then it sounded like feedback. What happened?

  89. S.... ....

3:35 -3:42 What is it called where he hits a note, then lets it fade in almost a feedback type sound? I've heard Satriani do it also on one of his songs.

  90. m.... ....

Great song, I have it on a cassette Best of Humble Pie from around 1989 or so. Yeah, I still listen to it in my car.

  91. w.... m....

Was fortunate to catch this band three times...each one was an unforgettable experience. Best live show going at the time!!

  92. D.... ....

    shit song

  93. J.... M....

I saw them at the Warehouse in New Orleans. They did the Filmore & Smokin album which included this and 'I Don't Need No Doctor'. Man what a SHOW. WOWWW!!!!!!!!!

  94. J.... R....

Great 'cover' by the one and only Steve Marriott!! RIP Brother! Note: This song was in the Christmas movie ' Christmas with the Kranks', starring Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis!

Dan Akroyd sings this great song while playing an accordion and accompanied with vocals by Santa Claus!! LOL!!

    J.... R....

This band Kept Eddie Cochran's music alive for me

  95. C.... W....

Right on, I was waiting for this song, I saw this band with and without Peter Frampton.
