Human League, The - I Don't Depend On You Lyrics
The night
So young
You could lose
You could gain
Your temperature's rising
You always say you're not the jealous kind
Then you tell all your friends that I've got one thing on my mind
I've played this scene before, you had one foot in the door
But there's always plenty more, don't try to use me
I don't depend on you, I've got my own friends too
I'll never be your wife, don't try to use me
I've played this scene before, you had one foot in the door
But there's always plenty more, don't try to use me
It's cruel but it's true, go back to the end of the queue
I've played this scene before, you had one foot in the door
But there's always plenty more, don't try to use me
I don't depend on you, I've got my own friends too
I'll never be your wife, don't try to use me
I've played this scene before, you had one foot in the door
But there's always plenty more, don't try to use me
The night, so young
You could lose, you could gain
Your temperature's rising
Better pull into the outside lane
You always say you're not the jealous kind
Then you tell all your friends that I've got one thing on my mind
I've played this scene before, you had one foot in the door
But there's always plenty more, don't try to use me
I don't depend on you, I've got my own friends too
I'll never be your wife, don't try to use me
I've played this scene before, you had one foot in the door
But there's always plenty more, don't try to use me
It's cruel but it's true, I don't depend on you
It's cruel but it's true, go back to the end of the queue
It's cruel but it's true, I don't depend on you
It's cruel but it's true, go back to the end of the queue

It's funny how in this recording they managed to capture the future Human League [with the female vocals] and the sound of Heaven 17 [that bass!] in this recording.
Cool disco sound very close to Dare era.
Who are the backing vocalists on this
richard askham Apparently they are Katie Kissoon and Liza Strike. There's this article on the making of Dare: https://electronicsound.co.uk/blog/the-making-of-dare/
Thanks-what a great article-the demos are on YouTube as well
Katie Kissoon y Lisa Strike
great bass line
I love this song. This band is underrated.
They're huge and they've been huge for 40 years. How can they be underrated?
It's Human League who were huge in the 80s and still popular today, for this song they were under an alias name "The Men".
The band is not under rated as others here have said, its Human League going under a different name for this song. The song is whats under rated as it didnt do too well after it was released. I seriously think its better than a lot of shit being played on the radio today.
