Howlin' Wolf - Decoration Day Blues Lyrics

Lord I got a woman, she nice lovin' in every way
Lord I got a woman, she nice lovin' in every way
You know she done died and left me, I have the blues on every Decoration Day

So sorry see you to leave me, I hate to see my baby get away
So sorry to see you leave me, I hate to see my baby get away
I want you to bring me some flowers, about every Decoration Day

Lord I was walkin' round her bedside, these were the last words my baby had to say
Lord walkin' round her bedside, these were the last words my baby had to say
She said bring me some flowers, be sure honey, on every Decoration Day

Someone I know who knows a LOT about this Stuff told me Willie Johnson DID follow The Wolf up to Chicago ( this would have been in the early 50's) and played w/ Wolf for a while, until Hubert Sumlin took over. I really  think Johnson was the better player ...IMHO... he had some great chops. Seems like you didn't hear much about him after Wolf, tho...wonder what ever became of him????

It says WIllie died in the 40's so my guess its more likely a sun records session guitarist
