Howard, Ben - The Burren Lyrics
Your carnation revolution was buried
In these rock pools and I'm grateful
And the sun looks like the afterlife
In a battlefield after the rainfall
Full of yesteryear's sorrow, bad dreams within
We were children again, we were children again
And home hit me like blasted stone of rattle snake unturned
Blind, can't you see I am letting go
I take with me what you left unburned
We walk out on out onto the burren frothy from the wind
Full of yesteryear's sorrow, bad dreams within
We were children again
We walk out on out onto the burren frothy from the wind
Full of yesteryear's sorrow, bad dreams within
We were children again
We were children again
Oh I come here to borrow time
Oh I come here to start a fire
Oh I come here to borrow time
Oh I come here to start a fire

I love every song Ben does.
Where can I buy this song or stream it?
couldnt find it on Spotify
Ben Howard's best track in my opinion. an emotionally-packed, explosive and moving track, The Burren shows Ben Howard’s rawest thoughts and emotions in his lyrics and his most haunting melodies and sounds in his instrumentation. An extensively long track, The Burren takes its listeners on a journey, one that is all of these; moving, character-building, terrifying, depressing, beautiful and even hopeful. The Fire and Conrad come close for me but The Burren will always remain my favourite.
How can someone create such a beautiful song? THAT OUTROOOO OMG I CAN'T EVEN!!! BEN HOWARD FOR LIFE!!
fuck this guy is so good he make you question your sexuality ! keep going mate
The sun looks like the afterlife in a battlefield after the rainfall....
just yes.
This version is without hesitation the best to me. Man, that outro...
I would like to give props and say "hey" to everyone commenting - you all sound like beautiful people
Stunning track indeed. How do I get his superpowers?
Why is this song not on iTunes :(
you can still download it through the internet though, it can be found
I can't find it despite a lot of research
It's not on spotify either. I found the cd on amazon though
@Owen Rees it's seems to be the only way to have it in great quality. But I read that the other tracks on the 2cds are not so great.
Ben J. Nima plus it only seems to be on import and rather expensive
So many songs from ben howard ive never heard on youtube? Where can i get official versions?? Anywhere i can buy them?
His songs to download, but if not a cd at leat - to get them in the best quality!
ahh ok i download mine from music downloading sites like musicpleer or mp3skull, just google it, you will find it hahah, good quality too, you can use spotify of course

so excited to hear some new stuff from ben!!! Dont think he knows how to make a bad song
+Josh Roberts Man, I want new album to bring us some really goood stuff! There is no option Ben can dissapoint me
+Josh Roberts This is pretty old, the other videos have just been taken off for some reason
Do you still believe this comment to be true?
Mitchell Boel end of his era :/ I miss his old stuff
@Dare he's still so young. Pretty sure he's only a year or two older than me. Maybe he'll get out of this funk eventually, or maybe he's just happy making what he's making now. Which is cool. I'm just not really a fan.
Just want to play this on the loudest volume in a dark room alone and lose myself into the beauty of this absolute masterpiece
Did that. It's amazing.
+Adeline Parker
'To be alone'
Adeline Parker yeah, I can fully recommend that 👌
I have done that very thing countless times before, I believe me when I tell you, I NEVER GROW TIRED OF HEARING THIS MASTERPIECE FROM THE MIND OF, IN MY OPINION THE GREATEST SINGER/SONGWRITER EVER TO DESERVE THE TITLE
Stuck on my head all day long
Love, Love, Love this!
I'm speechless.. everytime
5:55 start fliying
fucking amazing!!!!!!!!
like a trip on an empty planet...
Thanks for sharing this. Great video. Would be cool if you'd come take a look at my videos as well, I just posted a new original song that you might like called 'Jack and Coke'. Much appreciated. -Brett
this is so amazing
Ethereal.
OUTER-worldly
The outro on this is so calm and amazing
+Colin Tarala 5 minutes more of outro would be just perfect
Relaxing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the acoustic version of The Burren that Ben played on XFM is by far the best rendition of this song.
i learned how to play it from that recording! easily my favourite song :D
The Greenaway pro version is pretty rad too tho
agreeable
Bantham Legend Never heard the xfm version. Yeah it's amazing, I do love his live stuff. In the booklet I got with his album, Ben says that he likes to record his musicmlive anywhere. But in a studio. Either way cheers for the heads up.
Calum A XFM version is back
Really looking forward to the new album. However on the tracklist on his website this isn't listed. Will be a huge disappointment if this isn't on the new album.
@Craig dingwall how do you know, that there will be a 2015 EP? or is it just a guess?
@O Ritt just a guess, he's sat on so many songs right now and starting to break new ones into the set - I live in hope!
@Connor Woolley I believe that this song's on Spirit of Akasha (link in the description). It's got this and Spirit of Akasha (By Corsaire - so Ben Howard, Mickey Smith and Nat Watson) which I definitely recommend listening to if you like this.
@Jack Wood Coincidence being Jack I've just brought The Spirit of Akasha album today off Amazon! I've been meaning to since I commented on this all those months ago! Looking forward to listening!
+Craig dingwall It also seems like it was the same version on the 5 track demo, though shorter at 5:45 - I'm assuming it means that version didn't have the long outro like this one does.
Cheers. Know the song inside out but never heard this arrangement.
