Hornsby, Bruce - Every Little Kiss Lyrics
Way out here, working on the docks
Everyone sees the long day through
Well, what would I do without the nights and the phone
And the chance just to talk to you
Hey, just to talk to you
A thousand miles away, hey hey
What I wouldn't give for only one night
A little relief in sight
Someday when times weren't so tight
When the day goes down on water town
When the sun sinks low all around
That's when I know I, I need you now
Every little one, every little one
Everybody here's a number, not a name
But I guess it's all right with me
As I sit alone, after a long day
In the absence of company
Whoa, I let my mind wander
A thousand miles away hey hey
What I wouldn't give for only one night
A little relief in sight
Someday when times weren't so tight
When the day goes down on water town
When the sun sinks low all around
That's when I know I, I need you now
Yes, you're what I miss, every little kiss
Every little one, every little one
What I wouldn't give for only one night
A little relief in sight
Someday when times weren't so tight
When the day goes down on water town
When the sun sinks low all around
That's when I know I, I need you now
Yes you're what I miss, every little kiss
Every little one, every little one
What I wouldn't give for only one night
A little relief in sight
Someday when times weren't so tight
When the day goes down on water town
When the sun sinks low all around
That's when I know I, I need you now
Yes, you're what I miss, every little kiss
Every little one, every little one

I'm so like ihis special amazing piano and others harmonic music!
Turned my wife on to Bruce when we were dating, she's loved him ever since. We've seen him 4 times over the 32 yrs, thank you Bruce, for keeping the music real.
Man is this great!!!!!!!!
Still sounds great
Who r here
My favorite song!!!
I never knew Jack Nicholson played the drums.
Perfect driving music!
Still love your sound...your tone is just so lovely. Can’t help but smile...thank you
The 80's seemed like much simpler times. People seemed more happy and life genuinely looked wholesome.
Animo VEVO son los mejores vídeos , estas rodeado de mucha envidia, sigue a tu ritmo, feliz año nuevo, no abandones
Wow, Bruce Hornsby's take on Every Little Kiss has such an adult contemporary feel to it. Its totally different from country artist, Sara Evan's version of it which has a more fiddle country feel to it. Both versions I love them both!
This melody overwhelms me
I didn't know Bruce sang this song! And it's not bad. I guess they're not a one hit wonder after all.
Music, just takes you back to, just about everything.
Who's listening to this right now?
Their best song.

Classique intemporel.
There should be a piano in every bar and someone to play it.
I miss my old life
I love it ..
damn these guys were good
528 people have never been kissed.
Listening to this song is like when you first wake up in the morning, and get up, and get going. Starts off slow, picks up tempo, then really gets going! Like when you get your first cup of coffee down! Now your movin!
This is my very favorite song, ever.
Boston's about 2500 miles east of LA. Cheaper to take a plane
from lax out to Logan, in case anyone wants to get back to Watertown.
Another snowy night out there. Citgo's owned by Venezuela.
Raising a glass to you, Luthien. Rest in peace.
So, let me get this straight: "Every Little Kiss" was relegated to be the third single to come off Ol' Spider-Fingers' debut album and got little respect from radio audiences at the time. Does that tell anyone how spoiled we were in 1986? This is a truly great piece of music! (I just wish I didn't have to worry about what happened to the poor little runaway girl.)
I found out about Bruce Hornsby because his band opened for the Grateful Dead.
I'm a genetic engineer trying to make pigs fly. A thousand miles away, not so far.
Is this too much to ask? Watertown's in Massachussets near Boston to me. Not within
the range of the pigs I'm imagining. 737s are fine planes if they'd take that electronic
jive out of them. Land in Logan and lose my own luggage thank you.
Charles river is where I might be found in case I turn up missing.
Boeing is a crud aircraft corporation from Seattle that doesn't care.
Hear a number, not a name. Sun sinks earlier in the day out there.
Old Truck Check! Music Check! Almost ready for that road trip just missing one small detail...
Bruce!!! Hookahville fans want you back so much!!!!!!!
We need your love lights
It is funny....a balding guy playing piano in his mid thirties would never make it today.....it is a shame......but the kids today get what they deserve....musical shit.....
Happy birthday Bruce. ..
Dont bash 2020 music ppl.Lets just agree they have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to go before they sound as good as this stuff.
This is real music. We do not have real music anymore. That is so awful. 🎹❤️❤️🤗🤗
this whole album is one of my favorite things to listen to during the late fall/early winter season when the sunsets are pale and clear and there’s just a lot to reminisce on.
Thirty three years later and that piano intro still gets me every damn time.
Yes, It just takes me back and I LOVE it
Perfect music for a gillette commercial.
Hmmm..Whatta I wouldn't give for only one night......
A little relief inside.....
and as for tonight I know why I need you now
Awesome heart wrenching lyrics
Love this song, but the video's a bit... miss-shot. With words in the song like Watertown, and workin' on the docks, I kinda expect to see... water, a harbor, a river, a bay, maybe a boat or freighter. Nope, we're driving casually through in the midwest somewhere, beautiful scenery anyway. Did you listen to the before you shot? I saw a few workers loading stuff, so they got that right.
good song to listen to while driving. sounds like pure Americana.
Thank u
This is a FREAKING EDITED version! I was all ready for Bruce's killer piano solo in this piece, and they cut it out! Pity they had to chop out the solo :(
That’s Cat’s mom
"The Way It Is" remains one of the finest albums ever made. Every track has a link to my life with my wife of 25 years.

How bout the drummer looks like Kelsey Grammer..... Lol
He puts Charles Ive's Concord Sonata to great use here.
I saw Hornsby solo at a tiny private college auditorium - I think it was late 2005 or early 2006- best show I've ever seen/heard. He'd play part of a song and improvise for a while before coming back to finish it. He had a box near the stage during intermission for people to write down requests and that's what he played for the 2nd half. Gutless me didn't go up and write down "Every Little Kiss"
I'm a singer, pianist and musician myself, have been for 25 years. Bruce Hornsby, Marc Cohen and Billy Joel are such brilliant pianists. I love their style of playing SO much! Very influential to me.
Screw who is better. Amazing song. Just a dagger delivered right on target. Feels, words, everything.
who are the fools that thumbed this down?
exactly. fools. probably millennials.
amazing song. Keeps me young.
Bruce is one of the greats!
Ii saw him play with the Grateful Dead at the old RFK stadium. Great show.
I miss this America, sadly long long gone, but the actual country and it's beautiful landscapes will never change!
I'd still love to go cruisin' down old Route 66 from Chicago to Cali!
Those 483 people who thumbs downed this...I am so sorry for your hearing/heart conditions!! 😜😂
One of my very favorite songs! Ever!! ❤
What a pleasure...great songs will live forever.
Pure Heaven. Thanks so much!
2019/2020 Brazil here!!!

THIS is Bruce Hornsby!
Dr. Frasier Crane killing it on drums
Man, this was a strong, STRONG album. So much quality work in such a small space. I think I've only seen the Beatles have that level of quality, and they had a heck of a lot more hype behind them than Bruce ever did.
Amo de mais esse som top top top
mst3KGf, could not agree more
John Mayer is the Bruce Hornsby using guitar and Bruce was/is the ancient John from piano
Extremely cool song.
What an " old Joanna" player..............eat your heart out Elton J
One of my favs from 1987. This was released twice ..first in '86, peaking on the Billboard Hot 100 at a meager #72. Second time was the charm, climbing to #14. No doubt boosted by the success of title track from "The Way It Is". "Every Little Kiss" is a better tune in my opinion. I couldn't get enough of the video either.
I'm guessing this was shot in West Texas?
Just east of Austin near Manor according to the internet.
Me so Hornsby
I remember 1987 like it was the back of my own hand. This was the first song on my iPod.
Hahaha--ipod. In '87, it's more like a walkman! Lol
PROBABLY MY FAVORITE BRUCE HORNSBY SONG!!! How could you be sad and gloomy listening to this??? Love you Bruce!! XOXO
Listening to this, trying to find a reason .....
They cut out Bruce’s brilliant piano solo at 3:53 mark. Foul!!
Currently deployed and this song makes me think of my wife and son. I sing it almost every day/evening.
Jack Nicholson on drums, Richard Simmons on guitar.,
I blew my car speakers listenting to this cassette in '87 lol
I need a hot tub time machine , I wouldn't come back
Such a peaceful song, sitting alone thinking of the past with smile on face those days, thanks bruce with such a good song
Que excelente música dios mio! Que vuelvan esos tiempos...
This song makes me think about my youth growing up in Williamsburg, VA!!!!
Hornsby stated in a 2011 interview that he doesn't feel this song has aged very well, and doesn't play it often live.
I still like it :)
Hard to believe he’s think that.
This is my favorite. This gets the groove right there in the heart. Feel it??!
This version cuts out a few seconds of music at 3:53.
Man I love this song.
I miss every little kiss!!God knows I do and need him so much!!
Buying the album at release in 86 may have been the best thing I did that year.
I’ll take 99 over 2019 anywhere or time.
looks like a family member did the video but who cares ? I was in prison when this album came out and I had some pull and anyway got the recording ...30 years ago still sounds great !!!
This song amongst all of Bruce’s brings back wonderful memories of my childhood, where I grew up and a much simpler happier time.
Wow what a great video ...wish there was a real honest women in the world like the one in this video ...waiting for her man trying to get to him ...in reality never happen
This is what Virginia sounds like
VIRGINIA STRONG!

I hate how the video, and in the 80s, the radio, takes out the piano interlude...that is the best part of the song, the best part of Bruce's songs, takes me to another place in time when life was easier and more beautiful...
