Hooters, The - Private Emotion Lyrics
Every endless night has a dawning day
Every darkest sky has a shining ray
And it shines on you baby can't you see
You're the only one who can shine for me
And a silence falls between us as the shadows steal the light
And wherever you may find it wherever it may lead
Let your private emotion come to me
When your soul is tired and your heart is weak
Do you think of love as a one way street
Well it runs both ways, open up your eyes
Can't you see me here, how can you deny
It's a private emotion that fills you tonight
And wherever you may find it wherever it may lead
Let your private emotion come to me
Every endless night has a dawning day
Every darkest sky has a shining ray
It takes a lot to laugh as your tears go by
But you can find me here 'til your tears run dry
It's a private emotion... Come to me...

Hooters, The Private Emotion Comments
Ricky Martin brought me here
all I thought it was original by Ricky Martin..Nice song!
I came to this song.
The rythm of lyric is great
I remember working nightshift during school holidays, listening to this wonderful song. "Every endless night has a dawning day..."
The best part is 0:41
Every endless night has a dawning day
Every darkest sky has a shining ray
And it shines on you, baby, can't you see
You're the only one who can shine for me
It's a private emotion
That fills you tonight
And a silence falls between us
As the shadows steal the light
And wherever you may find it
Wherever it may lead
Let your private emotion come to me
Come to me, come to me, come to me
When your soul is tired and your heart is weak
Do you think of love as a one way street?
Well, it runs both ways, open up your eyes
Can't you see me here, how can you deny
It's a private emotion
That fills you tonight
And a silence falls between us
As the shadows steal the light
And wherever you may find it
Wherever it may lead
Let your private emotion come to me
Come to me, come to me
Every endless night has a dawning day
Every darkest sky has a shining ray
It takes a lot to laugh as your tears go by
But you can find me here till your tears run dry
Well, it's a private emotion
That fills you tonight
And a silence falls between us
As the shadows steal the light
And wherever you may find it
Wherever it may lead
Let your private emotion come to me
Let your private emotion come to me
Let your private emotion come to me
Come to me, come to me

Wow 28 10 PM
Ricky Martin's version is much better, simply because he's a much better singer.
this version is better . ANd not because its original . It`s the music . Martin is pop-shit
original and cover is almost as good for me.. just little different style...
I like this more than the covers!
Its amazing how many people have this song connected to strong memories.
Todos estos 20 años pensé que esta canción era original de Ricky Martin!! Ahora me doy cuenta de que no! Ambas versiones son buenas.
Wow. 2019. Just discovered this was the original. And I can hear the words clearly. And the words go straight to my heart. Now it's not just some song I'm going to play "in the background." Thanks, Hooters.
I didn’t realise this version of the song. Only heard RM Spoiled both versions are beautiful
I just knew today that Ricky martin & meja covered this song. Jezz 19 years old i didnt realize it...
Ricky's version is much more sentimental than this one. The Hooters should actually pay a tribute to Ricky for making the original song "famous" :)
Ricky Martin's is the best
Ricky ruined it.
Why is this song not on The Hooters official channel?
This is the original ones. 👍
Me gusta las dos versiones:la original y el Cover de Ricky & Meja
I prefer Meja and Ricky Martin...
Don't matter if this is the original.
Now I understand why this song is still my most favourite Ricky Martin recorded song. Thanks for this Hooters!
Marriage song & chicken wings🥂
Esta versión original me gustó más ... Que el que le remedo Ricky
The Original!!!
Oh yes !
The intro of The Killers - Mr. Brightside? nobody listened that?
But this song is at least 10 years older than Mr Brightside
It's the same beat, but slightly different notes.
Mrs. Brightside is better
Private emotion is better
@Man de Gaturiss No
So... the intro also got covered by the Killers for "Mr Brightside", I guess...
Ha I've only just 'discovered' this version... Its good!
The original insertee more originality and emotions while Ricky's version is more commercial and modern yet still full with emotion.
So much talk about the Ricky Martin version of this song. If I'm not mistaking it's in fact Hyman and Bazilian playing most instruments on that one too :)
CONGRATS GREAT SONG! @melomanodriver
A poem, I love this version.
wow it is better than Ricky martin's one.
That's because they wrote the song and he did a remake.
Ricky's soooo much better!
Whoever did the background vocal on Ricky's version screwed it up.
prefiero a MEJA & RICKY MARTIN
jaja de pana
Ricky Martin covered this in 2000, that's a fact.
Now everybody let's listen to the intro of 'One step up' by Bruce Springsteen(1987) :-D
Shit i didnt Know about the.original
It looks like Private Emotion of Ricky Martin... !!!!
The Hooters fans around the world knows. Never knew RM did this song.
The Hooters covered the song too. It is originally a Tina Turner song
JAJAJAJA el coño de su madre me hiciste el día JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA
@Nostromo lol!
@Stine Lykke Olsen no it isnt! do u mean 'private dancer'? Lolol
Liked both versions. The RM one and this one.
the voice is so similar too
Loved it

Clearly the Ricky Martin version is more produced than this version. Some people are going to prefer that, others not. What I like about Ricky's version is the prominence of Meja's vocals starting on the 2nd verse. Meja is a much stronger vocalist than Mindy. The RM version seems to have a bit more of a climax than the Hooters version as well. I can respect this version, but the RM obviously was more of a winning formula.
+marvelboy74 this version is better.
Agree. The Ricky Martin version's music video is nostalgic and it matches the concept of the song (the frozen hotel slowly melting until it is razed by fire representing a person from being cold-hearted to being emotional)
both are good
U mis 2 b kiddin
It was dedicated to Cyndi Lauper!!!
FUCK THAT OLD UGLY BITCH.
What do you know her personally or what is going on here?
Is Cyndi Lauper in the background?
yeap, and is Cyndi´s band too
I think Cyndi Lauper was only the inspiration for Rob Hyman to compose the song....
Love the song and your photographs are beautiful.
Yes, the original!!
Ricky almost ruined the song. The original one is the best
Nos tromo wtf are you talking about. Ricky Martin and Meja's version is awesome, just like the original
THE H(.)(.)TERS!! ye
Like you, I grew up with the Ricky Martin version. I absolutely had no idea this song was a cover. However, although both versions are great, I must say that Ricky's version is better due to the fact that it sounds fuller and more emotive. I'm Latino, so I grew up hearing Ricky my entire life. :)
At,last someone who thinks like me in this
My most favorite band and one of the favorite song !!
The intro is very similar to 'One step up' by Bruce Springsteen.
@galleif I think that's why they were covered by Ricky Martin. He seems to have given them credit.
i never knew that Private Emotion by Ricky Martin was a cover. They're both wonderful. I prefer Ricky's, probably cause i grew up with it. i feel like his sounds fuller too. but, this way is wonderful too. i love this song. it's so beautiful.
@j4wn But the drumsound of The Hooters is much more authentic and fuller (my opinion as drummer).
This is the Shit!!!
I LoVe It <3
wow. very nice..
Peerless! For me it sounds like it was newer than the Ricky Martin & Meja cover - not from 2000 and all the more 1993.
yo...the hooters.......many thanks....one of the best
"Hooters ordinary lives" är en goding det oxå....
*****"RECOMENDATION"*****
yo crei q esta cancion era de ricky martin
mira vos
jeez !!! didnt know this version before...i knew the Ricky Martin version...bt when i researchd on it on wiki...i found the original is by The Hooters n i came here 2 check it out...n i must say it's better :D
didnt know they made gay music too damn
the chorus sounds like Eagles Hotel California
dude 7 years after i reply to you yes totally like hotel california i found it thanks to that song xD
The Hooters did a slow version of the Eagles Boys of Summer that makes the pain of that lost love hit hard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsCD1Pybmuk
wow, this is the first time ive heard this song.....its so amazing......ive got so many emotions running through me right now :)
Why must everything be misconstrued and twisted toward gay's?
Why everything has to be interpreted from the straighties POV? The song doesn't even mention the gender of the person that it was wrote about. You sound ridiculous.
The real thing! I didn't know - I thought this song was written by/for Ricky Martin.
I wonder if it's describing an omosexual relationship (private emotion - love runs both ways) ?
Hmm somethin to think about for u there lolol
very nice ..love it thanx
I'm Ricky Martin Fan, I didn't know that was a cover :o It's good but I prefer Ricky's Version. I came from wikipedia! haha
Is nice to know the original version.
More genuine feeling, obviously
Copied and pasted from wikipedia (Hehe!)
Ну во не хуя я в музыке не знаю выходит - каждый день что то новое!!! Вот группу познал а оказалось сколько песенок хороших понаписали!!!! Вся современная поппса жрет старые запасы - что будет когда все кончитсяя?!!!
I like both versions, gosh, all of u are Ricky haters.
No dude, I think Ricky's version is better actually.
I totally agree. It´s a beautiful song....
song was written by Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman of the American rock band The Hooters, who recorded it for their 1993 album, Out of Body.
Ricky did a good job with this song, but the Hooters are fantastic song writers and very under-appreciated.
it is much better than rickys version.
agree never liked rickys version but this is just beautiful
making a cover of a song is not hard. i think Ricky destroyed a truly masterpiece of a song. to write something like this is true poetry!!!
i never knew ricky martin's was a cover version until now... so glad i finally found the original version. i love it, it's great!
Rare form of cancer.
i hadnt heard that, what happened?
well what can i do that i like the ricky martin's version better. still this one is awesome also.
As a Hooters big fan for more than 20 years I have loved this song since they recorded it back in 1993, the answer is simple, Ricky Martin decided to record it and make it a hit because its BEAUTIFUL and he really loved it too.
somos tocayas
respect to you !
Both versions of this song are great in their own right. The Ricky vesion has a "fuller" sound, but let's not forget who wrote the song in order for the Ricky version to exist. Logic and common sense prevail once again.
The Hooters are straight out genius. All their songs are so down to earth. And the lyrics are just brilliant. This band is one of those many that deserve more credit then they got.
Just heard recently Mindy died a couple of years back. Such a tragedy, she was great. :-(
Gracias Ricky Martin por permitirme llegar a esta canción
No, this is Mindy Jostyn, a member of The Hooters at that time.
Is that Cyndi Lauper doing second voice in the end?
You SHOULD get it!
It's out there somewhere-waiting for you...
=)
This song is a sacrilege! Losers like Ricky Martin should keep their f....g hands of masterworks like these!
Cindy in the background is the cherry upon the cream on top!
Thanx! =)
Great song actually didn't know of this song until today.
All those yaers i've thought that Ricky Martin's & Meja's Version was the original.
Well what do you know.
The hooters should have more cred for this song.
One of the most underrated original hit and fantastic instrumental sound.
Yes Ricky the copycat can go home.
Salute to the original creator
Beautiful, Maria!!
i love it, thanks "K"!!
you were right, JB Excellent video and song!
