Home Free - Man Of Constant Sorrow Lyrics

I am a man of constant sorrow
I've seen trouble all my day
I bid farewell to old Kentucky
The place where I was born and raised
(The place where he was born and raised)

For six long years I've been in trouble
No pleasures here on earth I found
For in this world I'm bound to ramble
I have no friends to help me now
(He has no friends to help him now)

It's fare thee well my old true lover
I never expect to see you again
For I'm bound to ride that northern railroad
Perhaps I'll die upon this train
(Perhaps he'll die upon this train)

You can bury me in some deep valley
For many years where I may lay
Then you may learn to love another
While I am sleeping in my grave
(While he is sleeping in his grave)

Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger
My face, you'll never see no more
But there is one promise that is given
I'll meet you on God's golden shore
(He'll meet you on God's golden shore)

Oh the sweet sounds of a juiceharp alongside the best country a cappella group ever can make anyone's day better

  8. N.... D....

I wise musician friend of mine once said “I don’t judge a man by the music he likes- but by the music he doesn’t like”.... and imma a bit blown by those who gave a thumbs down. I guess there’s ppl who’ve yet to see a sunrise- good job bois.

  9. J.... R....

2:36 Ladies and gentlemen, we have found our next Hades

  10. s.... ....

    1:55 invisible harmonica....nice lol

  11. K.... F....

I could sit and listen to Tim Foust sing anything and enjoy it. His voice, as a bassist, is one of the smoothest and most evenly held at lower notes that I have ever heard.

  12. K.... M....

*Love this song & movie. from 🇮🇱*

  13. M.... H....

Tim mother Fucking FOUST lol 😍😍😍😂😭😭😭😭

  14. t.... C....

  15. A.... F....

  17. S.... T....

    Love it!!!!

  18. J.... M....

song was good, video was crap..sorry..can't dress someone in that stuff and have em stand still, lifeless and expect em to capture the heart behind the song

  19. G.... F....

My only issue with Tim is that he always has that look like he just got smacked in the head with a 2x4. Such a great voice, though.

  20. M.... B....

HandMonica was epic but please drop the autotune. You don’t need it.

  21. D.... H....

    Butcherd this song up

  22. C.... L....

    playback 1.25 speed noice!

  23. T.... c....

Way better with that beard, looks a man now
    😜

  24. E.... B....

Adam Rupp plays fake harmonica better than I play real harmonica.

  25. C.... B....

    Absolute love this this

  26. D.... P....

    Awesome, better than the original

  27. J.... W....

Don't mind me, I'm just trying to figure out which is cooler: singing deeper than the Mariana Trench, or playing a stinkin' harmonica WITHOUT a harmonica 😂

    J.... W....

    Jarod William
    👏👏👏🤣

    J.... W....

I think playing the Harmonica without one is cooler.

    J.... W....

    Why not both?

    J.... W....

Jarod William ain’t it the truth?

  28. D.... A....

Tour with Pentatonix. It would be EPIC!

  29. C.... G....

Country roads, and this are the only passable country songs in my book. And these are passing very well

  30. A.... D....

I relate to the word so much that I listen to this beautiful arrangement multiple times a day😍😍😍
Tim foust, you're a beast🦁, that bass line is unequalled🎸!
Honorable mention to Mr Adam Rupp for thay dope beatboxing🥁, Austin for such an ease on the higher range🎤🎵🎶, Rob for that "ebeda, ebeda, ebeda, ebeda, here we go"💿🎻🎺 at the end, Adam chance you're a versatile baritone🗣️. Keep blowing our minds guys🥳🤯

  31. g.... r....

Like this version better than from o brother movie

  32. R.... C....

OMG. I cried hearing this song. I love all of their voices. But oh Lord, Adam is there are no words to describe his talent. They complete each other. Please come to The Netherlands for a concert?

  33. G.... ....

I love the tune to start with and this is a great version

  34. A.... G....

Better than the original version of this song :) i love it

  35. P.... P....

We have been to several Home Free concerts this past year and this is one of our favorite songs. We hope they sing this song at their concert in Cheyenne Wyo. in May.
    They are the Best!!!!!!

  42. E.... P....

  46. K.... ....

I can't call myself a bass in good faith anymore, I am a fraud!

  47. G.... H....

Chills not even 20 seconds in. Nice.

  48. E.... P....

In my opinion, the best version.

  49. G.... J....

    Awesome

  50. B.... ....

"get one more of us putting our hat on while panning the camera"

  52. M.... S....

This is one of my favourite songs. And now this is my favourite version

  53. K.... K....

Awesome cover fellas. Yet, there's nothing more frightening than Hannibal Lector beat boxing.

  54. E.... W....

Boys, that was a mighty fine a-pickin' and a -singin'!

  55. D.... T....

    That harmonica impression is incredible!!

  56. D.... A....

I think I'm gonna get hypothermia from all these goosebumps

  57. K.... J....

I swear every time I listen to this song I think Austin sings "Baby, your friends stink..."

Hot damn, it's the Soggy Bottom Boys!

  59. q.... ....

    Powerful harmonies.

  60. 1.... ....

    Loved it guys!

  61. T.... P....

The perfect example of hipster citying a folk song. Great harmony but all the feel of the original is just dead and buried by this.

  62. P.... L....

My opinion is, that this is the best verion of Man of Constant Sorrow.
Other versions like Sayer Friedricks and Joan Baez are also awesome. But this is just It.

  63. N.... F....

Tim is a bassoprofundo. Low bass

  64. N.... C....

That mans voice made me shiver. He could make any women’s ovaries jiggle.

  65. D.... C....

HOLY SHIT! That bass singer isn't HUMAN!! 0.0

  66. F.... ....

    Thats is one serious barrytone!

  67. P.... W....

  86. B.... P....

Everybody’s got to be the next Pentatonix!!

  95. G.... ....

Apparently the 962 down votes were people that were jealous or just plain miserable!

  96. J.... I....

Do you want to ride that golden railroad to God's golden shore? Jesus Christ is how you get there. He is the only way to heaven.

  97. S.... 4....

That dum dum doo back line sounds familiar..

  98. J.... P....

If you are reading the comments while the video is playing

    *PAUSE THE VIDEO NOW!*

In order to properly fully and completely enjoy this video, you will need

    Plug chewing tobacco
    Brass spittoon

Ceramic jug with 3 Xs carved into the neck, filled with questionable liquid distilled under the moonlight

Your best Broke Back Cowboy hat and boots

Now that you have these items, go watch the Daytona 500, and the 1979 Daytona 500 brawl

Knock out half of your teeth

Then, go and fuck your first cousin

Jump into a lifted Chevy Square Body stepside with the Tree Fiddy motor and NV Fo'ty Five hunrit tranny. Don't forget the glass packs and Super Swamper Boggers. *NOT* the fucking TSL Boggers

Lock in them hubs, drop that bitch in 4 low, hit the mud, and only then will you be ready to crank this video on full fucking volume!

Great job, boys! Old beat boxing vocal harmonica boy, I just can't stop. He's awesome! And that fucking bass vocal 🤯

    I have some complaints though

1 This video is too short
2 The guy with the glasses didn't get enough lead breaks
3 The video isn't long enough
4 The song was too short and it would've been great if you boys had written your own verse to make it longer
5 When home boy breaks it down with the DJ sounds and says here we go now, that would've been the perfect time to insert an extended coda. Opportunity missed.

I sent this shit to e'rybody I know, and I'm about to listen to it for the 11th time.

I felt 10 listens were mandatory before commenting.

Helluva job, boys. Y'all done good
