He was a chief tax collector he had reached the top of his profession he was still able to run and climb a tree at least but he wasn't getting any younger. He had become wealthy his work was his priority. Zacchaeus was almost certainly from religious home his parents called him Zacchaeus "the righteous one" but now religious people regarded him as a sinner because he was collecting taxes from his own people. Zacchaeus wanted to see who Jesus was he must've realised he had a need. For all his money, success, family life and religion there was still something missing. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus without Jesus seeing him. Many people feel that because of their sin and imperfections, God will turn away from them. But God loves imperfect people and instead turning away from you, He turns towards you. Zacchaeus didn't realise that you can't hide from God. Jesus knew him and He even knew his name. Zacchaeus didn't realise that Jesus loved him and wanted to know him. Whatever you've done in your life and whatever your imperfection, Jesus loves you and wants to be in a relationship with you. But he requires a response. In a dramatic moment of encounter Jesus said to Zacchaeus "come down immediately" zacchaeus humbled himself and obeyed Jesus. He came down and at once and welcomed him gladly. Jesus was not put off by the negative response of the crowd. The result was total transformation in zacchaeus life. He decided to give half of his possessions to the poor and if I've cheated anybody out of anything. I'll pay back four times the amount. The reason I'm telling you his story is that no matter what people think of you or no matter what you think of yourself Jesus loves you and He wants to be with you.

I Just saw this today-4 months after you posted it-words can be few Andrew-"Jesus Help"!


I know that He is faithful and he knows the cry of your heart-ask Him to open your heart to His love-faith works by Love. I believe that now 4 months later you have a different testimony to tell because I know He won't fail you.

+Andrew Toering Not getting through on your own is the key...you can't...we all need others' and God's support and love. When I'm sad, I think about how sad God must have been to see His Son on the cross. But there is a happy ending...eventually. The test is to spend as much time giving God your sadness as you can...each time it comes up...give it up to Him and Praise Him for everything He is Worth! He knows exactly what to do with your sadness. One scripture that has helped me for many many years is that sorrow may endure for a time ("night"),. but JOY comes in the morning...I think the "morning" is after all is said and done, God has the last word. He IS the last word, the Alpha and Omega. He has everything in His hands. Try to imagine yourself in His hands, on His lap. My favorite visual is me sitting at His Feet with my head in His lap, just resting and spending time there. God Bless you and keep you and may His Face shine upon yours. May you have His Peace that passes all understanding and walk in the faith that He has given you!

Read Ephesians 3 and Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him. And He will make your paths straight. Being a chretian is not an easy path, but it's the best gift you could have offered yourself. Be around people who are positive and are chretians and can help you go through it. Although I am a senior citizen, I listen to and like Hillsong.  I have several of their CDs.  I like listening to music that glorifies Jesus our Lord.  Praise Him for suffering for us on the cross and for being raised from the dead.  What a glorious day that will be when we get to see Him and the scars which He received for us.  Praise Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

@Charles Mangum That makes me really happy :) Most of the senior citizens I know who are Christian would talk about any modern Christian music like it's trash just because it's not traditional. They would probably hate how David worshiped God so openly and wildly too. I pray that people are open to all kinds of worship if it's pleasing to God.
